Do most kids wear costumes to MNSSHP?

My DD 7 always like to dress up like a princess but my DS 9 still loves Halloween and to dress up and go trick or treating at home, but he's not real sure about dressing up at Disney (not many costumes for his age that are disney) He wants to trick or treat at MNSSHP will he be out of place if he doesn't dress up?

Never been before, but I can already tell you we won't be dressing up. I have a 5 and 2 yr old, and the costumes would last a little while and then they would want them off. I'm making them t-shirts instead with Halloween Disney characters on them to wear.

He won't be out of place either way. Just as many adults as younger and older children dress up - I have been to several parties and didn't notice more of one than other. In fact, if I had to peg the people who dressed up, I'd say there were just as many small princesses and Pan's as there were child-free young-adults and older who were in coustumes as well.

It's totally up to him - but remember, when theme park touring, simple is better.

Does anybody know if they sell special Halloween Disney t-shirts specifically for the MNSSHP? I am thinking that my DS(6) might wear that instead as I have heard it can get really hot!

They do make special MNSSHP tees!~ But you have to buy them in the park during the party! You can wear a plain tee and then change?

Jacksmom - thanks for the quick reply, I think I just might do that then...do you know if they were something that a six year old boy might enjoy? I guess my question is - is there a general shirt, or some with princesses and some with other characters?

We've never been to MNSSHP either, but reading all the posts of how almost everyone dresses up (which makes sense, since why would you pay so much if you weren't 'into' the party atmosphere?), here's what our family (me, DH, DD 10, DD8) will be doing: We're going to be Mouseketeers~ black Mickey ears, black shorts, white t-shirts with our first names on the top front, and the Mouseketeers logo on the back. Viola'! We won't be any hotter than if we didn't wear a costume, and it won't be cumbersome at all!
