I just moved here a couple months ago and finding myself on my first business trip back to nyc (and I don't have to pay!?!?!? woohoo on that). I was just getting out of vacation mode and into local mode and I find a lot of the same feelings of getting ready to leave central florida for this trip as a vacation visit here.

I'm just wondering if the podcast crew or locals in general have their own form of theme park withdrawal when leaving the area? do you find yourself visiting the theme parks more on your return?

Most certainly I have WDW withdrawals. If I don't go to MK for example for 2 weeks I feel like it has been forever. Even when we were in Disneyland I couldn't wait to get back to WDW.

I love living close to the parks so I can visit whenever I want.
Oooooh - just saw your tag, Kathy. SUPER Moderator. I think I should assume the position now. :worship: :)

Val & I have lived here for over two years now. We've crammed a lot of travel since then so we've been away from the house probably 4+ months out of that time. Actually, we don't miss WDW as much. We are simply happy to be back home in our own bed, etc.

I will not pass up an opportunity to do something Disney. :) I totally enjoy visiting a theme park, taking a Disney cruise. It's nice to come home after a trip but usually the first thing I will do is visit one of the WDW parks when I return. Once after an ABD trip I managed to fit in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom in 24 hours.

I thought it was just me that got withdrawals. Sometimes just have to go when after reading posts on here

I spent August and September up north this fall. There were so many things I missed while being up there. We did get to Hershey Park, but that's not the same. My dh wasn't with me and ds, so he'd go play at Disney on his time off and let us know what we were missing. Salt in the wound!

A lot of the "locals" are not from Fl so I would think they get the bug more often than those of us that are from Fl and have been going since opening. My Niece in Tampa is AP and they go almost every weekend. We go only once or twice a year and live an hour away. Still get the Disney Blues when we leave the park though.

When I'm away visiting family, mine shows up most after dinner when everyone wants to just hang out around the house and I want nothing more than to go out and watch fireworks. Turns out the rest of the world doesn't have multiple fireworks shows to choose from on a daily basis

this is what gets me to the parks lately. I love fireworks and I can hear HS and Epcot from the house (and faintly hear MK if sitting on the porch). doesn't help that the sky lights up colors from HS also.. Every night there is a reminder that Ic ould have been watching fireworks.

I will let you know in about a yr when I move to the area, cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it cant get here soon enough for me

We also just moved here, our home is now Tampa. I've noticed that I don't get withdrawals from the Parks. We seem to go every couple of weeks, sometimes more. But I do get resort withdrawals. We are DVC members and we now seem to go last minute. This means Saratoga Springs stays, no withdrawals for that. But when we are on the Friendship launch going by Boardwalk (our home resort) or on the monorail going by Bay Lakes Tower I do get a pang.

For me it's not so much that I get withdrawls as much as when I go I have thoughts of, "Wow, I don't take advantage of this enough."

We frequent various resort restaurants, bars, and Epcot for F&W. Beyond that we don't do much in the parks. My wife did insist we go to DHS last year for the final Osborn.
