We didn't arrive until 6pm on Friday and the trip was only for a weekend. We had to move very fast to accomplish everything we had planned. We parked our car at POR and I sprinted to check in. This trip at check in they gave us a big red packet with all the brochures and pamphlets you could possibly need to plan your time at Disney. Ok, no time for reading it now, we have things to do. Make note to save it for toilet reading later.
Back to the car we go, then on to find our room. We're in 9229. We've stayed in 9047 last stay, so we know what building and where to park. Car parked, we try to find the elevator. Arrows say this way and that, so we go this way and that. Ok, push the button, we wait. Elevator opens, people get off, we get on, and up we go. Elevator stops, door opens, and we read the signs. It tells us to go left. We go left. Next sign tells us go right. And we walk and walk. Here's the room, we're in. DS turns on toon Disney and plops on the bed. He is completely mesmorized by the TV. (We don't have cable at home and only get 3 channels on our tv set.) Ok, he's out of commission. He's a tv zombie.
Now baby starts crying. Time to feed baby. I feed baby and DH gets to unpack the car. DH uses the steps right in front of our room, and at the end of the walkway, there is our car! So he carries everything up the steps instead of using the distant elevator.
It is now 6:30. The campfire is next on our agenda. Instead of going left out of our room, the way we entered, I went right for some reason. Next thing you know, there is the elevator! All that zigging and zagging we did earlier by following the signs, was uncalled for. Disney's signs were the long way. We rejoiced we found the short cut to the elevator! We tell DS we will only be able to stay at the campfire until 7:30, since we still have to eat dinner and go to the Contemporary to pin trade.
We go directly to the Fishing Hole to purchase a S'mores kit. We debate between 1 or 2 kits. We get one kit and 3 sticks. Much to our surprise the $5.25 kit contains 20 marshmellows, a pack of graham crackers and 2 full size Hershey bars. So we begin to roast marshmellows and consume our dessert before dinner. DS thinks this is a great concept and suggests we do it this way all the time. Baby wants in on the action and starts begging for a marshmellow. Ok, we were terrible parents and let him taste it. Now the skits are starting, and baby is screaming on the top of his lungs for another taste of marshmellow. To get him to quiet down, dh gives him another and another and another taste. DS is now in the next skit, so I grab the camera and snap a picture. Baby starts screaming again for marshmellows. I try to give him a fruit puff, but that's not what he wants. I then procede to give him another taste of marshmellow. He says, "UMMMMM". The songs begin and they distract baby. We hide the marshmellows from his view. It's 7:30 gotta go!
I grab the stroller. I forgot I locked one of the wheels. It is very dark and we can't really see the path. The stroller is accummulating all the leaves and sticks along the path. It's getting harder and harder to push. DS remarks that we are taking the path along with us. We get to the pavement and some light. Then it dawns on me that I locked the wheel of the stroller. Fix the stroller and we head to the food court.
As we enter the food court DH takes baby to a table and feeds him baby food and DS and I get in line to get food. I whip out our e-mail that confirms we just became member of the Disney Dining Experience. We get our food and our 20% discount!!!
We ate our food. Went back to the room for potty break, (still no time to read the packet.) Then headed to the car to go to the Contemporary.
We get to the Contemporary at 8:45pm. DS heads straight to the kid's board. There is a huge line of children. That was surprising because there weren't very many adults. DS made some great trades with some other traders. Dh and I didn't make any trades. The entire time baby is bouncing off the walls from the sugar of the marshmellows.
He is acting really silly. Back to the POR we go. This time we can take our time....and yes, now is the time to read the packet. And yes, it was read
