I'm hoping to change my AK reservation to BWV. We are booked Oct 15-27. I can only book the first seven nights on March 15. Should I wait the few days so I can book the whole trip or book the first week and call daily to add a day? I don't want to end up having to do a split stay.

What size room are you looking for ? I don't think anything will be available unless your booking a 1 bedroom

I would walk it, but just realize that anyone with home resort advantage can thwart your walk. It is not a silver bullet like it is at 11 months.

Walking is different from booking the first 7 days you want and then adding the remaining. Walking is booking nights you don't intend to use and then moving the reservation.

I'd book the first 7 on the 15th and then call to add the days.

What would you do if you get the first 7 nights, but not the other 5? Do you have enough points to hold your current reservation plus the replacement reservation?

The only way to guarantee you'll get all the nights is to wait and book it all at once. If you don't have enough points to hedge your bet, then I'd wait.

You are starting to get into the busy Halloween celebration days and F&W is still going on. If you really don't want to do a split stay, you might want to take KAT4DISNEY's advice and book the first 7 and then call to add the rest. However, as of the time I'm writing this, even the 1BR's are starting to get pretty booked up for your dates.

Wishing you lots of pixie dust!!!

I think this is what I'll do. Really hate split stays. If it doesn't work out I'll stay there in January instead.

So I can book the whole thing five days into my stay?
Yes, assuming that the room you want is available for all the nights you wish to book. The bigger question is whether that room will still be available to book for 10/15-10/21 when your 7-month window opens for the last 5 nights of your stay. That's a really huge question mark when you're talking about an Epcot resort during F&W.

Thank you. I know it's a gamble. We will be happy at AK. Fell in love with BWV in January when we were there for the first time. What a location!

I totally agree! That's why I own there! :teeth:

IMO, if you'll be happy staying at AKV and don't want to deal with a split stay, then roll the dice. Wait until you're 7 months away from the last 7 nights of your trip to see if all 12 of the nights are available at BWV.

Looking at the availability tool, your best bet is a 1 bedroom pool/garden that is available October 15 to 17 and 20 to 27. Studios are only available a day here and there.

I called right at 9am yesterday to move from a VWL 1 bedroom to any one bedroom at BWV for 10/13 - 10/18. I already had a 1 bedroom std for 10/18-10/22. Nothing was available so I waitlisted pool garden view and Beach Club. Went online an hour later and found pool garden availabie. Called MS as I had to cancel VWL for points, and they found a standard 1 bedroom then which I quickly grabbed. Moral of the story:availability changes quickly, especially that first day. Keep watching and good luck.
