Value and club level studios at AKV Jambo have a year-round 11-month issue, where they most often disappear within moments after 8 a.m. at 11-months out for any given arrival date. The problem with "walking" for those rooms is that it is usually difficult to even find a day that one can begin a walk. Value 1BRs have also had that 11-month issue for a number of times of the year and first two weeks of Dec and Christmas week are among those times. The third week of December sometimes has openings for the 1BRs right at 11-months out, so if you are going to try walking for one of those, the somewhat better chance of getting lucky to start a walk starts a couple days from now..
As far as a back-up goes. and with one exception, standard and savanna view studios at AKV, both Jambo and Kidani, have never had an 11-month issue where they disappeared very quickly in the morning exactly 11-months out for any given start date. The exception was for standard view studios at both Jambo and Kidani when attempting to reserve a room on October 30, 2020, to begin 11-months later on September 30, when the studios disappeared almost instantly at 8 a.m. for two nights. Moreover, that is also when a huge number of rooms at various
DVC resorts filled for two nights very quickly after 8 a.m., including rooms that were often available at 7-months out much of the year; examples: every room at BLT filled within 15 minutes after 8 a.m.: likewise every room at CCV except grand villas (but including the cabins), and all rooms at VGF except standard 1BRs. The reason: October 1, 2021 was the begging of the WDW 50th anniversary event.
