In the middle of packing and I not sure about a few things, staying at SSR 1 bed with 2 children 7 and 11 in case thats relevant.

So will I need

jumpers (will each have 1 on plane, will that do ?)
cagoules (or just buy ponchos? )
washing powder
dishwashing tablets
washing up liquid
towels (need for waterpark ?)

Am trying to pack as light as possible, only planning on 2 cases between the 4 of us, we always end up with too much stuff when we go away and dont plan on doing any shopping there. So will use the washing machine there, is there an iron does anyone know.

Dont worry I will soon be gone and you wont have any more daft questions !:goodvibes

jumpers (will each have 1 on plane, will that do ?) - should be fine. It's hot hot hot over there right now, even in the evening. Only time it might come in handy is if the aircon is too chilly in your room but there is a thermostat so hopefully can adjust to your tastes anyhow. There are also blankets too if you need to snuggle under one!

cagoules (or just buy ponchos? ) - I'd say just buy poncho's but tbh, I don't even bother with those because I hate how they stick to my knees when it's wet, hehe. It's quite easy to dodge in a shop/restaurant/attraction away from the rain as normally it's only a short 5-10 min burst in the afternoon. However, we're only 2 adults so can be flexible, even if the weather stays bad for a while so you might not have the same flexibility.

washing powder - you get a box of Tide in your room that's good for 1 load. At least you do when staying on DVC points, I imagine it will be the same (for no other reason than rooms aren't assigned when Housekeeping service them). They replace that when Housekeeping service the room (not Trash and Towel day though) but whether they'd do that on normal daily Housekeeping I couldn't say. Maybe with a note and a nice tip. I normally just take a couple of those individual tablet things with me.

dishwashing tablets - You get some powder enough for 2 loads. Again, not sure whether they'd top that up on normal daily Housekeeping though.

washing up liquid - you get a kind of quarter size bottle of washing up liquid. Good for lots of washing up! Edit: You also get one of those little sponge/scrubby things and a teatowel too

towels (need for waterpark ?) - you get a big wedge of towels with your unit. They are all standard white - they look the same as pool towels. You can take them from your unit but obviously need to bring back or you'll be short in your room! I know a lot of people tend to borrow towels from the pool to take to the water parks - I'm not sure if some view that as some sort of unethical practice (and who am I to judge anyhow) but would just say that if you did that, I'd return them to the pool wet towel bins where you got them from at your resort when you're done rather than the water park ones.

is there an iron does anyone know - Yup, iron and ironboard will be in your walk in wardrobe area.

I would say the jumpers you wear on the plane will be sufficient, washing up liquid, tablets etc will be provided. I would just buy ponchos over there and I usually bring the kids a beach towel each, or they get a new one over there. I tend to just lie in the sun to dry :rotfl2:.

Agree with everything so far and just wanted to say that we take pool towels from the DVC resorts to take to the water parks and just bring them back to put in the used towel bin.

Agree with all of the above, but hadn't thought about taking pool towels to the waterparks - I would be too nervous:scared1:
With regards to washing detergent etc. you can always buy some in Wal-Mart or somewhere if you get short - I certainly wouldn't waste valuable packing weight on it. If you're not driving you could ask mousekeeping for some more, or failing that the shop at SSR (I think) should sell it.
As for jumpers - August in Orlando - no way!
There can be very heavy rain hough, so if you have lightweight waterproofs they might come in handy.

I would totally take towels from the resort pool to the waterparks.

I figure they are the exact same towels, which will go to the exact same laundry, which will then be counted out x for this hotel, x for typhoon lagoon etc. etc.

Didn't occur to me that it could be a naughty thing to do.

We were told to take them from our resort for the waterparks once. :confused3 It never occurred to me to challenge whether this is good practice or not. I will continue to use my resort towels at the waterparks. We do, however bring them back to the resort with us and drop them in the towel bin at the pool so it's not like they are getting left behind. Even so, I also understood that the Disney towels are "communal".

I always take my own washing 'tablets' or those liquigel thingies (rather than powder) as nervous one of us may react to a 'different' washing powder - they don't take too much room or weight.
