Do I need to pay taxes

If that is you only income you do not have to file. If you received any money from any other source, such as selling a house, interest on stocks or self employment then you will have to file.

Maybe your thread should be moved as it doesn't have anything to do with vacationing at WDW with a disability. There is a community board where you might get responses.

I had a feeling this was not the place but I did not know were else to post, but know I know this should have been posted on the community board and yes SSI is my only source of income.

No problem. I'm hoping the mods will move this for you so that you can have more of a "conversation" on the community board.

If you get regular "disability" you DO have to pay taxes on it and the government will send you a form at the beginning of the year telling you what your total previous year's benefits were. I think the number on it is a 1099 form.

I don't know if there is a difference in regular disability and SSI disability but with regular disability you are responsible for paying income tax.

You DO NOT pay taxes on disablity benefits from an individually owned and paid for policy. You DO pay taxes on disability benefits from a group (e.g. work) issued policy.

Social Security Disability benefits may be taxable under certain circumstances (tax filing status and income level) but in most cases the taxes on SSDI are minimal.
