Do I need to copy Disney Tickets?

I've read several tips that state basically, copy your tickets in case they are lost. We are staying on site and it's my understanding that the room key is the ticket. Is this correct? If so, is it still recommended to copy these?

Not NECESSARY when using room key/tickets.

But it could not hurt to copy down all the NUMBERS printed on them, just as a reference.

Mark each person's name on her/his own ticket as well (so you can keep them straight at the gates).

Yes, your room key is also your ticket to the parks. I have never made copies, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. As long as you have confirmation numbers from when you made your reservations you should be fine.

I wouldn't worry about copying the Key To The World. If you lose one (and one of my dopey kids did), they cancel it and reissue it...but we had to do it at the hotel.

It is the paper tickets that need to be copied. If you lose one and don't have all the numbers on the back, then you are out however many hundreds of dollars you paid and have to buy new ones. We lost one at a FP machine and boy was I glad to have a copy!

1) If you have paper tickets ALWAYS copy the back of the ticket, the numbers can replace if lost or damaged.
2) If you use hotel keys, not need to copy to list the numbers, it can be replaced quickly at WDW.


NOTE: If you have days remaining on your room keys, mark down the numbers immediately by your name (not the ones near the bottom of the key). The keys can be "easily" looked-up for one-year-past if you lose the keys at home. They can be researched further back, but it takes time.
