After doing much thinking about this...Do I absolutely HAVE to book a PACKAGE wedding through Disney, or can I book everything separately myself. I don't mind doing, in fact I would love to do it this way...I don't really want a wedding planner. Also, can you really get married pretty much where ever you want to in WDW when you get married on Disney? I know the price ranges will differ depending on where you want to say your vows. We just want a quick service and we don't want anything really fancy as there won't be many people there, and we'll be having a reception at home when we get back. For example, can we get married at one of the countries at EPCOT? Or can we schedule a meal somewhere with a little private room and have the ceremony there if we get all our wedding "needs" through Disney such as someone to perform the ceremony?

Basically if you involve Disney in the planning, you have to go through Fairy Tale Weddings. If you booked a private room, you could certainly book your own officiant, etc. You can book Illuminations dessert parties and cruises, etc, without having to go through FTW, but I don't believe they let you wear your dress into the park unless you're with FTW.

I've found that if you are low key and treat it like a "meeting" you can do pretty much anything you want. If the word "wedding" is mentioned, off you go to Fairy Tale Weddings.

Yes, if you have a custom wedding you can have your ceremony just about anywhere at Disney if you pay the minimums or the site fees, and it doesn't happen during park hours.

Yes, there is a $1200 site fee and you have to meet at least a $7500 minimum for a weekday wedding.

No, Disney will not allow non FTW arranged events to take place on property.

Just wondering if anyone knows...can we get married at Pirates of the Caribbean? We would be having a small group and the time of day isn't important (I know they don't let you wear your dress in the park during operating hours) I don't mind booking thru FTW, but don't want to spend $10,000 on a wedding with 10 guests. We would like to follow up with a dinner or something after the ceremony. pirate:

Any event that takes place in the MK, be it ceremony or reception, you are required to meet the minimium expenditure for a MK wedding, which at this time is $52,000.

If you want to hold the ceremony at MGM or EPCOT, the minimium expenditures are the same as any custom wedding $7,500 or $10,000 depending upon day of week and time, but there are site fees attached to certain venues.

For example, a GMR reception has a $7500 site fee for the charaters, ride, etc.
