Do I need the confirmation letter?

I made our first reservations as DVC members a little over a month ago and have not received a confirmation letter. I made the reservations day by day, but the CM I spoke with on the last day stated she would put a note that the reservation was complete and to send out the confirmation. I have the conf. numbers written down and they also show up on the member website so should I call MS or just not worry about it?

Whenever I have showed up either at a DVC hotel or just a WDW resort, invarialby, the confirmation letter that I present has been ignored. I am asked to show an ID. So my guess is that we don't really need the letter. I wouldn't "give up" on getting one, they may be behind in sending them out.

You should not need the actual confirmation, though I usually have it with me. You could print the members webpage, that should be just as good.

Thank You. I thought I would be ok without it but figured I better ask just in case.

For the reservation I made on 12/23/06, I got the confirmation in the mail this past week.

I have never been asked for it. As long as you show up on the DVC member web site, I wouldn't worry.

I have made reservations on the morning that we left for an impromptu vacation this past July. I just gave them my name at the gate and at the front desk and everything worked out fine. I didn't have our cards yet because our membership was still so new. Member services was great and the cast members had no problem taking care of us with no paperwork.
