Is it still the case that if youre staying at a hotel in Walt Disney World then admission to the Disney parks is included? On previous visits we have just used our hotel room key card to get into the parks, not sure if this is still the case...

Hello,

Im wondering the same thing? We have booked a Disney hotel but am unsure on the ticket situation?

You can book a package that includes just a hotel or you can buy a package that includes park admission and even one of the dining plans. You can buy your park tickets separately and you can choose to visit just one park a day or to "park hop"....There are so many options.

I suggest you go to the Disney website and start reading about what's out there. You can play with the online reservation area to get an idea of the costs of the options and once you decide what you want, you may decide to recruit a travel agent and start looking for discounts.

Good luck and happy planning. I think for a lot of us on the Dis, the planning part is half the fun.:thumbsup2

even if you stay,in a disney hotel, you still need park tickets.you do not get in,for free.
whether you buy them seperately,or part of a package, they still have to be purchased.
you are right though, they can be put,on your key.

Even if you are staying onsite you need to purchase tickets but like Kathie said you can include these in the price of your hotel - you just pick the tickets and hotel option on the WDW site.

If you are opting for the dining plan or are getting the dining plan free you will have to purchase the tickets through the site. Or that's what I had to do... it wouldn't let me have the free dining without it. I found the WDW site to be a little more expensive for tickets by about £15 or so than other sites but when it comes with free dining it's a cost I'll happily absorb!

The best part is planning so look around and see what is best for you and your fabulous holiday =)

Thanks :) We're going to go through Virgin so i'll check with them if admission is included in their prices, I know it includes a Key to the World card...

years ago they used to be included in many packages, we went in 97 and they were but now its normally all seperate and Virgin holidays it will be seperate as well

Our 1st visit the whole package was bought through a TA and the room key acted as park admission but the 2nd time we went I purchased tickets from a UK ticket agent and even though we stayed on site they would/could not put the tickets on the room key, I was given a number of excuses from 'a 14 day UK ticket can't be found on our system to we can't put it on your room key as it wasn't purchased as part of a package'. I asked at the park entrance and in 2 of the hotels we stayed in, no one could help. It was a bit of a pain carrying 4 room keys and 4 park tickets, I had to do it I didn't trust the rest of the family:rotfl:
