Do I need my laptop at DW?

Please help, I'm driving myself crazy!!!

I can't decide if I should take my laptop to Disney or not....I would love some opinions. Is it worth the hassle of dragging it on the plane?

We are driving, but we are bringing ours so we can upload pictures. I doubt we will pay to use the internet, but pictures are our main concern.

Are you wanting it for internet?

Honestly, I don't know how often you use your laptop. We always travel with a laptop and share between the three of us.
We use it to keep in touch with family rather than trying to phone with different time zones etc. My hubby keeps in touch with work if needed and my son is a computer addict.

If you can live without it, leave it at home. I have to take mine whenever I go on vacation, I feel lost without it.

Well, I guess I'm thinking more along the lines of for an emergency, like if we need to find a doctor or hospital. Alternate transportation home, my DD9 HATES flying. Maybe for Disney information... things that are open and when and how to get there. That sort of thing. If I had it I would probably pictures on it but yes, I can always buy some more camera cards. I guess I'd prefer to go without, I just don't want to regret not taking it. Good to know not everyone takes one.

I guess it would be nice for a flight for your DD to watch movies? I don't know how long of a flight you have, but my DS plays games on his on a plane.

If you have a medical emergency, the front desk at the resort can always guide you to find assistance, so I don't think it's helpful for that.

It doesn't sound like in your case you will need it.

My poor BFF, thankfully she downloaded her pictures from the beginning of the week onto hers. She had her fanny pack stolen at the Orlando airport.....money, cc, camera and camera card. She's so thankful she at least had some pictures on her laptop. I feel so bad for her, just wants the camera card back.

If you plan on spending time at your resort, then it is convenient but not necessary. I have never been so bored at WDW that I needed my laptop. Could get that live trip report done.

We are taking ours so we can download our pictures every night And so DH can check with work you'd think the man could take 7 days off once a year

We like ours for checking the weather forecast... uploading pics... and some fb status updates and check. (One of my bff's had a daughter in the hospital while we were there, and we were doing a refi at the same time, so the updates by email, fb, etc. were helpful to us.)

we had ours to clean off the camera each night. We did not take it the year before and ended up with like 200 pics. This year we had over 800 pictures.

We will take ours again this year to put pictures on it and for dh to get on the internet for school (his summer school starts 3 days before we return) if needed.

We stay DVC so we have free internet, ilike having my laptop with me. Don'tuse it a lot, but nice and convenient

Your original question was was "Do I need my laptop?" No, you don't need it! But, you might want it. We are bringing ours. We will upload pics, my husband can plan solitaire when he wakes up at 5am and we don't. We will put movies and audiobooks on it. It's kind of a pain, but hubby doesn't bring anything else really, so I can deal with it!
