Do I need front of the line passes for aug?

Thinking of taking the family the first week of August.
Debating staying at cabana bay vs portofino
Can we save money or do we need front of the line passes?

A quick look at the crowd calendar shows 8/9 out of 10 for that week.

(It's not FOTL, by the way...there might be a line of other EP users in front of you)

First week in August is BUSY!!

I wouldn't do the parks anytime without Express Pass as we hate to queue, but at that time.......it will be mobbed.

You'll be really happy you chose Portofino with Unlimited Express Pass.

You mention "saving money" by staying at Cabana Bay without EPs...have you price checked Royal Pacific? Portofino is their most expensive resort. Cabana Bay is their cheapest. It's kind of like asking what's better, a Yugo or a Ferrari. We stay at Royal Pacific because it's "nice enough" for us, and includes the EPs. The last time we went was in August. It's blistering hot. Standing in long lines is not fun when you're dripping with sweat. I wouldn't go in the summer without EPs. Price check RP and Hard Rock if you want to save a few $$, but still get the EPs.

Yes - stay at a hotel with express pass included for the first week of August. Not only will it be crowded, but it will be hot. Hot makes it even harder to deal with the crowds.

YES to EP always! We go early August and can't imagine not staying on site for the EP benefit! Maximizes your time which as I say to my hubby saves you $$
