Do I need Cash?

Does a person need to carry cash inside the parks if your staying onsite and you have a credit card linked to your magic band?

We almost never carry cash but I do carry my wallet in case I need to use my debit card to get cash. In my experience I am much more likely to spend cash than I am to spend using my credit cards or mbs so I don't like to carry cash around.

I think it's wise to carry $20 in cash at all times as street vendors, for example, only take cash.

It's a good idea to have at least some cash.

In addition to the vendors that don't accept MBs and credit cards, I sometimes will just pay cash for something simple like an ice cream bar or a bottled drink. Plus, if there is a problem with the reader at one of those remote locations, it may be cash or nothing.

I very seldom ever carry cash but that is because I prefer to charge on credit card for all purchases whether gifts, food or incidentals :good vibes

As others have stated you will need cash for the street vendors.

That's me, too; sometimes I just use cash for small purchases. I always carry my wallet in my bag, anyway, so might as well throw in $20-30 just in case.

Like the PPs, I carry $20 cash just in case. I need it for the street vendors and I have run into occasions where the card readers at food carts aren't working.

I always carry SOME cash. Stuff happens. Systems could go down. Some vendors don't accept another form of payment. You just never know.

We used cash to buy a balloon. The light carts also might need cash. Also used cash to tip hotel mousekeeping.

Had to use cash for the silhouette artist off Main Street. He didn't mention that was the only form of payment until after he cut the silhouettes. Not sure what would have happened if I didn't have any?

I always carry cash. Even more so now since the issues with major retailers being hacked. I bring my card but rarely use it. My trips are paid off before I go. I don't use my MB to charge, and this is good, because I'd spend even more money that way.

I primarily use cash and Disney gift cards and the credit card is a last option. The Disney gift cards will be replaced as long as you hold onto the original purchase receipt.

We are just the opposite. :lmao: Cash seems to fly out the wallet... :rotfl2:

I know everyone is different about this. For us we monitor our credit card spending at the end of every month and it is easy to track spending. With cash it is much harder to track so we try to avoid using it.

Vendors that we have come across that only accept cash include the light up toy carts that walk along the parade route and food vendors that walk through some of the longer ride queues and among the seats at some of the larger show venues. Also, pressed coin machines only take coins.

And we've had 2 times when the credit card system was down at a store.
