Do I have to carry the Disney tickets or just the first day?

I read that the first day I pass the ticket in the machine, but the other days only has to put my fingers.

Nope.

You'll need a ticket each time you'd like to enter a park. The finger thing (biometrics) is to verify that you are the rightful owner of the ticket.

1. You insert the ticket same as before
2. You put your 2 fingers in the biometric box
3. When you ticket shoots out the other side, you go through the turnstile. If for some reason the biometric scan fails, you may be asked for ID to match the signature on the ticket (if you are an adult).

Disney CM will stamp your hand as you are leaving the park so you can re-enter later in the day if you want. Otherwise, you will need your ticket each day.

Even with a handstamp, you still need the ticket to re-enter.

A hand stamp by itself won't get you in -- you need a ticket to get in, ALWAYS.

And you don't need a handstamp if you have the AP or MYW tickets - the name and finger scan are good enough.

You will also need your tickets to obtain a fastpass.

To park hop (with a hopping ticket) or to re-enter a park (with any ticket) you may need all three -- the ticket, your fingers, and a hand stamp.

Child tickets and pre-2005 park hoppers don't use finger scans.

There is still a known issue (5/05) with exit turnstile attendants saying that hand stamps are not needed but ask for a hand stamp anyway. If you run into problems and the entrance turnstile attendant asks, tell him what park you were last at and what time you left.

Here was my experience May 8 - 14: I haven't been to WDW for years, but I had been reading a lot and knew the importance of hand-stamps upon exiting to aid in my return or hopping later in the day. On Day 1, the CM at the exit told me hand stamps were "just for show and don't matter for anything." She guaranteed me it didn't matter. I'll tell you, I was afraid to leave the park! But eventually I did, of course. I hopped/returned more days than not, and I NEVER had any sort of issue with re-entry to the same park or a different one. NEVER had any word said to me, I was never questioned. I believe that original CM now, the one who told me hand stamping didn't matter. Just my experience, your mileage may vary.

This might be a silly question but I purchased tickets with the hopper option for the first time so we'll be new at park-hopping. If you don't have to get your hand stamped when leaving a park then when you re-enter a second park in the same day does the machine that you insert your ticket into recognize that you've already been to a park earlier in the day or do you have to tell the CM before inserting it??? I have visions of 2 days being used up on our ticket because of us not doing something right!! I'll be picking our tickets up when we get to WDW so maybe there's an explanation with the package but I'd like to know beforehand (and I don't want to hold the line up at a theme park asking questions!!).
