Do I have any hope of finding a xbox kinect sensor?

Hi everyone! I have decided to get my boys the xbox kinect sensor as a suprise for Christmas. I had been unsure if they would use it since we have the wii, but I know their cousins are getting it as well as several of their friends and are raving about it. So......I got ds the xbox 360 last June so obviously I don't need a bundle....and I'm not sure what games I want to get them to go with it. Probably only one or two games to start. But everywhere I look I see it packaged as a bundle.

I've checked out Ed's tracker site but so far, nothing. Do I have any hope of finding this alone before Christmas?

They are readily available in Atlanta. I would try Game Stop.

The folks at Game Stop said the "shortage" was all hype.

I bought mine last week at microsoft.com - came with 2 games and shipping was free. FYI- once I added it to my cart it let me remove the 1 game I didn't want

Try calling the Targets in your area. They're the only place in town I was able to find the sensor alone.

As to it being all hype I dunno. Two weeks ago you could not find it anywhere online and as mentioned above Target was the only place I could find it. They got six the night before and had one left at 8am that morning. I live in a big city, Walmart, Target, Game Stops practically on every corner. I had to hunt it down.

I have seen them lately at Walmart and Gamestop.

We ordered ours online at Walmart. It was a 'bundle' with 2 games...but DD was buying the games anyway, and the price was basically only pennies different.

Everyone was telling me they saw them everywhere too - Target, Gamestop, Walmart, but when I went to those places, they didn't have them, they had empty boxes sitting on the shelves where they should be as a marketing thing. My mother told me she had just seen three at Target that morning, I went right there and was told they didn't have them and hadn't in days - I said "but my mother saw 3 here this morning" and they pointed to the shelf where there were 3 empty boxes sitting as display. Walmart and Gamestop do the same thing. The ones that actually have a sensor in them are in the back, or behind the counter...they just put empty boxes on the shelf to advertise them.

So I did have a hard time getting one, but ended up getting one, (this was like a couple days after they came out though) at Gamestop. Go to a couple of different locations and find one where they are helpful. There is one near me where the manager told me what time their shippment comes in each day. I showed up every day at that time and he would unpack the box and for 2 day there weren't any, but on the 3rd day he had 4 come in and I was there as he unpacked them.

check Best Buy too. We bought ours before Thanksgiving because our Gamestop folks told us to act early. Glad I did.

Amazon does have them, but they are all resellers priced $50 or more over MSRP.

I ordered when Amazon had them in stock and paid $149 with free ship. They were backordered on 11/8 when I placed my order and I received on 11/28

The Wal-marts where I live still had them very recently (after Thanksgiving) but they were on a special display and not in the XBox cases. At first I thought they were out!

Generally....if it's in the sales Ad...that store will have at least a few put aside for the first day of the sale.

I haven't seen any of the sales flyers that start tomorrow..but if it's in the ad...try to be at the store at opening.

thanks guys! I guess I will just have to keep checking walmart, target and gamestop over the next week or so. Am I correct in assuming that I want to pay $149 for the sensor alone? I know the games are $50 or so so a bundle with two games would bring it to the $250 I see it advertised and sold everywhere as....but the problem is I don't want the games that they let you choose from.

So, I'll try everyones tips and hopefully I will get lucky soon! I am hoping that since its early Dec I might be able to score one before the big day. Wish me luck!

I bought one at Target about a week ago. I have seen some at Target, GameStop and Wal-Mart here. Good luck finding one. I can't wait for my boys to try it out.

I've been hunting for the Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle since before Thanksgiving and everyone has been out. (of course, I wasn't one who got up in the wee hours for BF) Anyway, I found one online at Walmart.com this morning. I'd just keep checking all the stores online.
