Do I have any chance?

I am on a wait list for a studio at AKV club level for Aug 23-25. Do I have any chance of this coming through? Should I book a studio (they had value, standard, and savannah view available) just so I have a room incase the club level room doesn't come through?

Anything can happen so I wouldn't rule it out entirely. There are not many of those rooms but August is a pretty slow time and use of the wait list is not always widespread. Unfortunately it's impossible to know if you are first on the wait list or 20th.

Personally I would book another room and go on the wait list. If you are the only one waiting, all it takes is one cancellation.

Last time I used the wait list it was for early-December at BoardWalk. I booked Garden / Pool view (only thing available) about 10 months out and wait listed for BoardWalk View. Got the BW View within a couple of months.

The further out you put in your request, the better the chance.

I think the chance of a waitlist for 3 weekend days in August coming through is not bad, especially 6 months before arrival (that is, past the 7 month window).

I agree that you should definitely book a studio and get on the waitlist. That way in the worst case the waitlist doesn't come through, you still have the studio. Once the waitlist comes through, it will auto cancel your studio anyway.

And if you really want the club level studio, are you willing to take one of the three days if only one day is available? If you are willing to take one day at a time, you have a much better chance of getting it. The downside, of course, is that you have to change rooms. But in my experience, if you get one day at a time, you most likely will end up getting all 3 days.
