Do I Have a Good Character Variety For a 17 Year Old Girl

We're taking our DS's, 17 yo. girlfriend with us next month. She has been to MK once, but never to the other parks. (Yes, we live an hour from WDW & that's the only time she's been. ) I've booked 3 character meals for her. We've been there & done that & usually don't go to character meals anymore. I booked Tusker House & Crystal Palace for breakfast (both @ 8:05 am) & LTT for dinner before MNSSHP. I can't find the character list for TH. I didn't book a Princess meal, because she doesn't seem interested in the princesses & my DS definitely isn't interested in those meals. The only one they may enjoy would be 1900 PF dinner, but we don't like eating at buffets for dinner. So, do you think these are good choices for her? TIA

Another option is 1900 Park Faire for breakfast. It has some of the Pooh characters, plus Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. They are really fun - the interaction with them is great. Just a thought. Otherwise, it looks good. TH has mickey and friends, I believe.

Being the mother of 3 girls, ages 8, 15 and 17, I can tell you the teens have little to no interest in the character meals anymore.

They do like 50's Prime Time and Ohana's for dinner.

On our last trip we did garden grill and 1900 park fare dinner and I will say everyone enjoyed the stepsisters at 1900, they were a riot.

They will tolerate the meals for DD8 but if it wasn't for her they wouldn't be into it at all.

What about Chef Mickeys ? I see a lot of teens here vs the other character ones. My dhs's love it here and they are 15 to 24.

It probably depends on the kid too. My 16 year old brother wasn't into meeting characters. I'm 22, and I still love it.

Maybe they would like the Hoop-Dee Doo no characters but more fun for the older kids. Althought Me and DW are going (no kids) to the Chrystal palace fro breakfast in less then 2 weeks maybe us old ones will enjoy the characters? qwe are also going to the Hoop anain also.

I would highly recommend Chef Mickeys. My dh and I go by ourselves and we do several character meals. Yes we take the pictures to show our grandkids. LOL

Thanks for the feedback. We're going next month, so I doubt I could get into Chef Mickey's. We ate there several years ago. I agree that it is a fun place to eat. We've also eaten breakfast @ 1900 Park Fare, & would be again if it wasn't for getting in the park early by dining @ Crystal Palace. When we ate there a few years ago, we had a blast. It's the only character meal our DS still enjoyed. The Mad Hatter was a riot.

Unfortunately, we don't have enough days to do everything I'd like. I'm not even sure if she'll like the character meals. Our DS stopped wanting to go to them years ago. Just in case she's not impressed, I booked locations & times that would either get us into the park early or have a Halloween atmosphere. At least, that was what I was thinking at the time.

My kids (teenage and beyond) would rather do without the characters. Knowing this, and needing characters for the little one on one of our trips, we did the breakfast buffet at Cape May. It was very low key and everybody enjoyed it. Another restaurant that teens seem to like is Boma (adventurous teens, anyway) and any of the countries in World Showcase. Good luck! It is nice of you to travel with your son's GF!

Well I think that with a 17yr old the key is variety and cool stuff,so If I was taken a 17year old I would mix it up,like Sci-Fi,Crystal Palace,Rainforest Cafe,Planet Hollywood,1900 Park Fare(dinner) maybe Ohana(breakfast) just mix it up!!! that will be the key, teenagers love different things!

My son would too! I booked the character meals solely because of DS's GF. We've been to lots of character meals, & don't feel the need to go to them anymore. She hasn't though, & I think character meals are something everyone should experience. This is one reason I had a hard time choosing where to eat. I tried to book with here in mind, which meant eating at places we normally wouldn't.

I should have included our other ADRs to let everyone know what else I'd chosen. The places listed are only the character meals I've booked. We also have ADRs for Sci-fi, Les Chefs de France, Coral Reef, & Hollywood Brown Derby. Do you guys think that's a good mix for a 17 yo. girl on a 1st visit? We've eaten at all of them except for Tusker House, Sci-fi, & Coral Reef. It sounds like Sci-fi was a good pick, at least.

Honey you need not worry, you have picked some great places, I am 34 yrs old and have a 20 yr old sister and your picks sound great, you have a little of this and a little of that and with your mixture of cool,sweet,and unique you have a recipe for a great time,she is going to love them so dont sweat it, you got it going on, and like the young kids say You ROCK!!!
