Backstory:

summer 2019: Ogas at Disneyland.DJ Rex wasn’t working. Still enjoyed the convo with another guest and had a yummy drink. But bummed because it was all about Rex for me.

October 2020: reservation for 2 at DisneyWorld. Rex was working but we were seated on the other side of the bar and the bar completly blocked our view of him. We were seated way in a corner. Again had some good drinks but were in and out.. with social distancing I couldn’t really be asked to be seated in a diff place.. missed out on Rex again.

sooo now. I am planning a solo 2 day trip before a work conference in December. I’m planning a day at HS. I love galaxy’s edge and really want to love Ogas. But it’s not about the drinks for me (I can’t do alcohol or carbonation).. I want to sit close to Rex and enjoy that vibe..

So do I try yet again?!?

If you want to see Rex, what would be your other option?

Explain carefully at the door, and "ask nicely."

Maybe ask nicely at check in and be prepared to wait. Since mobile check in is what is used now you might want to speak to a cast member outside before using the mobile check in and maybe they can check you in and make a note. I agree that it is a bit of a bummer not to be able to see him bouncing around.

One time we were able to see Rex and one time we weren't, but we were standing at the bar. Honestly, the bartenders were so much fun to interact with and watch,I didn't even miss seeing Rex.
However, if its important to you, as noted above, as the CM before you check in and see if there is anything they can do.
