Do I get new Magic Bands when I book a new trip?

We dont have the bands from our previous trip and will be booking under the same account. Does Disney expect me to still have the bands from a year ago or will new ones be shipped out when our trip comes around next time?

No, You do get new ones with each new reservation

New bands - and you get to pick new colors! Some of us are trying to collect all colors: I have blue, pink and green so far and am going with red next time.

Do they get sent out right away or closer to the actual date of the trip? We are booking 15 months in advance..

they get sent about 3 weeks before your trip, give or take.

The bands are actually interchangeable so it's my understanding that you can use either an old one from a previous trip or a new one it doesn't matter as long as it's the same account.

You get new bands every time you stay on site. However if you keep previous bands their good for about 3 years before long range functions start to die. You can have multiple bands and use different ones during your trip that are linked to your account.
