Do I file a complaint?

I guess you could file a complaint but you said the character didnt even notice. It probably was a complete accident so I dont know if I would file a complaint. I understand it disrupted your day though. Sorry that happened to you guys though.

IF your still there at Disneyland, maybe you can like make buy a card saying like oops, were sorry but we missed you greatly.

Or one of us can mail that to your son. :)

Don't mean to be mean - but why do you need an apology ? It was an accident for goodness sake - it could have been anybody , it was just unfortunate it was a character - Accidents happen all the time especially in crowds.

Perhaps you need to record an accident report for your son , but I dont think an apology is really required ??

It's sad that it obviously spoilt your day and that is unfortunate

I dont think you should call and complain. It was an accident. If it was a guest at the park would you call them at home and ask for an apology?

I am sorry your day did not work our as planned and that your son was hurt and then afraid to go back but I think it was an accident. I am not sure what you expect them to do.:confused3

hmmmm...first post, screen name Bonked, and a story about getting hit in the head that is ripe for a debate. :confused3 Are you serious? I'm with the 'it was an unfortunate mistake' crowd. If you are serious, I'm sorry it ruined your day, but I don't think an apology is warranted.

You asked:

If it were my kids, no WAY. I don't want them to think that two weeks later they're going to get an apology for something that someone did inadvertently and didn't even realize they did. If my kids didn't want to go back, I'd say well I'm sorry you feel that way, and realize that it was their decision.

If it wasn't a big enough deal to do at the time, I don't think it's a big enough deal to do week(s) afterward.

That's just me.

How old is your son? I would have told my son too bad- we are going back and we are going to have fun whether he likes it or not- and I bet he would have ended up having fun! You need an apology from your son for ruining your trip, not Disneyland-

Some (most I think?) characters in fuzzy costumes have little to no vision except for directly in front of them, I believe. He/She just didn't see your son.

These kinda of things seem to happen all the time, just not with character involvement. Secondly, never give an aspirin to a child. Look up "Reyes syndrome." When I worked in a hospital a number of years ago there was a rash of these types of cases and they still do occur, but the publicity has been pretty heavy since then...just a thought.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:I laughed out loud when I read this! You are so funny, Farmgirljen! I can just picture that, "You are having fun whether you like it or not!" :lmao::lmao:

Oh the things I long to say, but can't due to the family nature of the boards, regarding the state of this great Union we all call home.:sad2:

Gimme, gimme, gimme:sad2:

My thoughts exactly!

I'm sure the character didn't even notice through the costume. If it was a big deal, you should have said something right away and I'm sure that they would have give your child a lot of hugs and attention. The characters at DL don't seem to have assistants like they do at WDW. Accidents happen.

PS - You aren't supposed to give kids aspirin.

I know how you feel.

Last December at WDW I was traveling in a scooter (ankle injury).

I was working my way up Main Street in a crowd (not fun when you are sitting at "butts and belts level" when someone pushed me and I rolled the front wheel into one of the openings for the rail car.

I was stuck and couldn't move well out of the scooter. I stepped off in my walking boot to try to pickup the scooter when the Photopass assistant pushed me so I fell onto the ground. He said "you are in the way - get out of here".

Well, my DH "enlightened" the photopass team in his best New York City manner while others helped me up and got my scooter out of the rutt. I was rolling in a few moments....embarassed but probably not nearly as much as the photopass assistant who was begging forgiveness after my DH was done with him.

Sometimes, people have bad days. That's no excuse. We just moved on through the crowd.

I agree with PP......get over it......it was an accident. Most Characters have poor vision due to those fuzzy costumes anyway- hence why many have an "assistant".

An apology is not going to bring back your day, and they're not going to offer you another free one for something like that.

You should have told your son to "suck it up" and be a big boy because it sounds like this was a minor boo boo. Kids will create "drama" out of boo boo's if YOU make it into a big scene. You allowed the day to be ruined by YOUR response to the situation.....not your son or the character.

Am trying to figure out how a fuzzy character could cause much of an impact.

But really, if that hadn't happened, your son probably would have ended up with a headache and not wanting to go back anyway...doing a one-day in the parks for what I assume is a little one (elbow level with a character) is HARD on them. It probably had nothing to do with the impact (and if you really felt it had, with the semi-recent head injury news, taking kidlet to the ER might have been a good idea).
