Do I dare ask? Other vacation spots?

Ok I'm as Disney crazy as everyone else here, but here's my dilema.

We always go for a weeks vacation over my DD's spring break from Montessori. It's always been to Disney. This coming spring break is going to be scheduled right along with Easter week. I'm not so sure I'm going to be up to dealing with the crowds and am thinking about going somewhere else :scared1: .

DD will be 5. We considered a cruise, but it will be too cold for us in March (native Floridians). Any suggestions?

I went on the Disney St. Thomas and St Martin cruise in early March and I would not say it was to cold. In fact it may even have been hot --some of my family is from Florida. It was in the 80's and mostly at the higher end.....all week except when we got back to Florida :lmao:

I guess it depends on what you like to do. We tend to like going to warmer climates, but then we are in the NE. My kids have enjoyed Hawaii, cruises to the caribbean (in March...and it was high 80's), Mexico, Grand Canyon, California (there is plenty to do there even without DL-SanDiego Zoo, Alcatraz, Hollywood), Niagra Falls (probably too cold in March...brrrr!). We do a lot of travel overseas, but I know not everyone is thrilled by that.

We love Disney, but there are times when DH wants to do something else. He is not quite the Disney nut that I am. I got a book a while back about places you had to see within the United States and we had used that for a while to help us with travel ideas. When you haven't been somewhere before, it is hard to know what activities are around that would interest everyone. The book helped us a lot and had us going places we would not have visited otherwise. :)

We went to Costa Rica this past year with our two little ones and absolutely loved it! Great place, great people and very inexpensive. We did a week long ecotour - very fun and educational. Check out costaricantrails.

Hey you can't spend every vacation at Disney, not that we wouldn't like to. How about California, the carribean, the Grand Canyon, skiing,or even Europe.
There's always the beach too.

Can you adopt me? :rotfl: :rotfl: I'd like to go on some of your family trips.

I'll look through my travel books and I'll definitely post the title/author in the morning...off to bed with me for now! :p

Found the book. It is called Amazing Places to go in North America. It is by Eric Peterson & David Lewis and put out by Publications International. each chapter highlights different areas (New England, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest, Southwest, Rocky Mountains, Pacific, and Mexico and Canada). I like the book because it will even tell you when is a good time to visit and what may be going on there at the time. There are plenty of pictures too. It's a 300+ page hardcover book. Mine still has a sticker on it showing I bought it at BJ's Wholesale Club for $9.99. I've gotten a lot of travel books from there as well as at Barnes and Noble. Cool ideas.;)

You could always do Adventures by Disney!! They have trips to Europe, Costa Rica and even here in the US. They even do a Dude Ranch thing in Wyoming; we can't wait until we get to try them!! This will be our last trip to Disney for a few years, my hubby made me promise that we would go to Ireland next. If our son was older we would do Adventure by Disney, but he's only 3. So after Ireland I think we'll do a Disney Cruise. A lot of them look really nice. I don't think you have to worry about it being cold on any of the cruises, b/c it really never gets cold in tropical areas. When we lived in Hawaii, it was like summer that lasted for 3 years! Have fun!
