Do I add a day conundrum

You might consider adding the Deluxe Dining Plan to your 1st night. Credits are good until midnight of your check out day which would be the 1st day at your real resort.

Help. What am I missing. I do Split Stays all the time and never have done DDP.
How can the 'second day' of the plan til midnight work if you've checked into the next resort? We literally check out of one prior to 11:00 a.m. and check into the other. Wouldn't it show up that you are "checked into a new resort" thus negating that DDP?

Checking in to a new resort doesn't negate anything. Your credits are good until midnight of your checkout day regardless. We love doing the deluxe plan this way as others have described.

Yes, I have done it multiple times like I mentioned above.

Short split stays to use the Deluxe DDP is the only way that we would use it. We eat like pigs for the first few days then eat like regular people for the rest of our stay. This was the only way that paying for the DDP made financial sense. Disney modifies the DDP each year to make it less of a value.

We take the time to spread sheet out projected meals and compare the cost, DDP, TIW, OOP. Disney hates us for knowing their system and learning how to get the bet deals. We don't feel bad for them though, there are plenty of other guests that helps them hit their billions in yearly profit mark.
