Do husbands ever listen to their wife?

We just got our FW back from the camper place after having some work done to it. I have told my DH for many months now (over a year) that we had a problem. There were 2 leaks and we needed to have it checked and fixed. There had to be a reason there were water stains running out of the electrical outlet, the carpet under the bed and in the cabinet was all mold (which I had to rip out and replace), and there were water stains and mold in the pantry in the kitchen. But did he really believe me, Oh No, not until I finally ripped the carpet out and he saw it, then he still came up with excuses. Ugh!!!!! :headache::headache:
Well, last time we went camping, I probably could have put my hand through the back of the camper, the wall was so soft. (He kept telling me the delamination was like that, wrong!!!) Well, I finally convinced him we needed to have the roof checked for resurfacing and resealing of the seams, for we bought the FW new in 2007 and it has never been done (bad, bad, bad).
Well, guess what we did have 2 leaks. The one up front was a small one where my DH backed up an enclosed trailer late one night (and of course I got blamed for not turning on the light so he could see when he got home...:headache:...LOL, but he was the one who was hunting all day, tired and just wanted to get inside) next to the FW and broke off the side light and that is where it was leaking, so that was an easy fix (thankfully no wood damage)
The leak in the back was another problem, they had to peel the roof back and replace all the wood in the back because the seam needed to be resealed!!! Now, MAYBE he will do the yearly roof maintenance when I remind him, or he will believe me when I tell him there is a problem (I hope we have no more problems!!!), fat chance, not with my luck...LOL!

Are men always like this?? :confused3

The brightside was I did con him into getting an awning put on the slide and roof vents put on so I could leave the vents open and not worry aboout rain.
Oh well, I guess that is what they call "Live & Learn".

Husband and listening to wife in the same sentence. Are you speaking a foreign language? I don't understand what you're trying to say.
My wife would tell you that I listen to every single word she says.
BTW, my new user name is "liar-pants-on-fire".

I think both husbands and wifes both listen. It is a matter of what they/we hear and when they/we get off thier/our .... to get something done.

Both of us are guilty of putting things off. Normally when I start asking where the power tools, hammer, etc is that gets him up and moving. And when he starts asking about financial or household stuff that is when I get moving.

We have both learned to print out lists and articles showing why something should/could be done. We have conflicting schedules during the week, so this works for us. Most of the time.

SPEAK UP! I can't hear you.

Did you just say something?

What did you say?

Huh?

What?

You never said that?

Say what? I was not listening.

It's your fault for not telling me!

:thumbsup2

My husband will tell you that when I talk, all he hears is the adult voice on Charlie Brown...."Wha-wha wha wha-wha..." :sad2:

Glad you got it all fixed!

You need more creative attention-grabbers.

"Honey, I think we're out of beer...." usually catches his attention in my house.
If that doesn't work you can also try "I hope you don't mind that I'm using one of your wrench-tool-thingies to open this glass jar of jelly..."

Once you get his attention you will only have about 45 seconds to make your point, so be ready! ;)

I might be missing something here... but, if you knew there was a problem, why didn't you get it fixed?:confused3

That is funny stuff.
I solved the problem of having to do stuff around the house. I got rid of all my tools.

Do husbands ever listen to their wife?
Is that a trick question?

I can't speak for her, but in my house even if I KNEW something was wrong, DH would not be on board with fixing it unless he felt that something was wrong, as well. I'm sure that it wasn't cheap to fix all that, and when it comes to spending a chunk of change, both of us have to agree. I can't imagine paying for a repair bill like that w/o DH's consent.

well I for one never put things off,,sometimes it just takes me a while to get to them ,,and I ALWAYS listen to my wife,,now asking me what she just said is a whole different ball game. Ball game,,man I could go for a hotdog and coke right now, that new water filter can wait,,or was it the leaky spickett,,oh it'll get done, I promise .

No.

Wait... to be fair I just asked him

He didn't answer me

His eyes glazed over though ;)

I told my DH 4 times over the past hour that we needed to run to Wal-Mart.

He just asked me if I wanted to go to Wal-Mart.

Me: Yes, honey. I told you 4 times.

DH: I didn't hear you say that.

Me: You didn't hear me?

DH: No. Well, you said that you wanted to go tonight, but you never said exactly when.

Me: *facepalm*

Ya'll are Funny :rotfl::rotfl: At least I see I am not the only one with this same problem. LOL
