Im wondering when we check into BCV, do my guests staying with us each get their own room key? And charging privleges if they wish?

That is the one drawback to DVC, you only get one room key. It is really a hassle if you lose it.

Yikes! You mean the 3 other people staying with us wont get a key? There will be 6 of us staying in a 2 bedroom and
I doubt we will be together constantly. This could be an issue for us.

Just one key? Even a husband and wife don't get separate keys?
I did not know this. Why is this? You should be given at least two room keys. Will they give you a second one if you ask? How can eight people staying in a 2BR all possibly stay together the whole entire time and meet at the room at the same exact time?
This doesn't make any sense to me.

How much dues could this possibly save us? Charge me the extra $2.50 for the extra piece of plastic if necessary, but this just makes absolutely no sense to me. Even when I stayed at CBR, there were 4 of us, and they gave us 4 room keys (we didn't use them all, though). I can't understand why a deluxe hotel can't issue more than one key, DVC or not, their guests need to get into their rooms-just not all at the same time. (ok-somebody stop me, I'm getting carried away here).

I'm getting the feeling that richyams is a jokester! Got me! Had me really going for a minute there! LOL!

Richyams you got me!
Im glad Im not the only one that fell for it!
So, Im assuming everyone does get their own key with charging privleges if they desire?

Yes, allicat, you are correct. Everyone can have their own key with charge privileges, if they desire.

You do all get keys but the charging privelges can be tricky. When you check in they only will take one CC. So at the end you get one bill. On your bill each chagre has a number so you know which card was used for the charge. So you have to go down to the front desk and use two cards and ask them to chare each of the card the appropiate amount. Or you can just have the others write you a check.

Another reply like this, and I'm reporting you to all those poor pitiful pigs that you've rendered footless.

(And for those of you are equally puzzled as to what I'm talking about, Rich loves sharing his Pigs Feet Recipe with the rest of us.

I would caution you about getting charge keys for others in your party. While it's technically correct that the keys can be used to decode who spent what, it's a big of a hassle. First, I've found that many come in and lay the keys down, no way to know who got which key later unless you're marked them yourself. Personally, I'd just get charging for myself and let them pay theirs with their CC directly. Now if you had separate rooms, you can get separate charging privileges.

I agree with Dean. Also, I believe if your two bedroom is a lock off unit that you can have separate charges on the room keys as they have separate room numbers. Not positive, but I think we did that with my mother a few years back. Always best to ask at check in for the most up to date policy, however.

We had a lockoff at BWV in May, and we got one bill for the 7 of us. We wrote down who got what key, and made it clear to all, including the teens that they were responsible for anything charged to their number. It worked fine, but we did have to add up each person's charges ourselves. I am planning on charging priveleges only going on my and my husband's keys at Columbus Day and Christmas. Way less trouble.
