My parents just bacame residents of Florida. We are going down in May and wanted to stay in a disney resort for 2 nights, but the rates seem so high. Do FL residents get a discount? Any tips for doing it cheaper?

Yes, Florida Residents do get discounts. They are along the lines of the AP discount. We just came back from the AKL savanaha view and we paid $171.00 per night with tax. However, you must have a Florida drivers license or ID at check-in and they have always checked mine.

Yes, Florida Residents receive very good discounts equal to the AP rates...But your parents will have to have the reservations in their name and proof of Florida residency required at check-in. So they will have to be with you.

However no discounts have been announced yet for May.
They have always checked my ID also.

Thanks

yes, Ive noticed that all the codes were for bookings until April. Should I wait to book?

I made my reservation for May last week, that way when the rates come out...I will call and have them updated on my reservations. Booked room only.

While I've never had my ID checked (maybe they just match the credit card zip codes or whatever), you need to make sure they book as soon as the codes come out if they want the discount. Sometimes it's easy to get them, other times it's just too popular a time. Just keep watchine Mousesavers for them!
