Do firefighters get special rates at resorts?

I saw someone mention their "teacher rate" so I was wondering if there was a special rate for firefighters and their families.

Check w/ the Swan/Dolphin.

They have special rates for nurses, teachers, & some gov't employees.

I'm not sure abt firefighters, but ask! You may get a plesant suprise!!!

Firefighters are considered government employees, so, do qualify for the gov rate at the S/D (unless, of course, they are firefighters for one of those large companies that maintain their own firefighting crew)

Yes, firefighters get the government rate. We did back in Aug of 2001. City, state or federal goverment. So that includes police officers also.

It may also matter if their Official fire fighters, or if they're volunteers.
I don't know if volies would be considered employees, but I guess it would be worth trying.

Only Swan and Dolphin, plus maybe the DTD hotels. But not the Disney owned and operated (unless you are attending a govt sponsored conference when they have a limited number of govt rate rooms).

my fiance is a paramedic. would he qualify to get some kind of discount when we get married next september?

It would depend who he worked for. My husband works for the city so he is a gov't employee. And, like the previous poster stated, some places consider all gov't employees and some only consider federal gov't employees. If he is just a paramedic for a private ambulance company, that does not constitute as a gov't employee. When my husband was a paramedic, he still worked for the city, same as now that he is a firefighter.
