Do dogs see themselves in a mirror?

I don't think my cat cares about mirrors, but he loves watching cats and dogs on TV and out the bedroom window. It's kind of cool...I used to leave Animal Planet on in the bedroom sometimes when I'd go to work (my cat is kind of high maintenance and tends to get bored (read: destructive) if left alone too long) and he'd raptly pay attention when he saw cats or dogs or birds or horses on TV, but if they started talking about something like an alligator, he'd lose interest immediately. It was like, if it was an animal he didn't have personal experience with, he had no use for it.

he also loves the Fresh Step commercial, and actually sat still and watched something like 45 minutes straight of The Adventures of Milo and Otis. He was mesmerized.

My 4 month old puppy found his reflection in the oven door the other night. He started barking ferociously at it!

He begins obedience training in two weeks. I guess he needs to learn to socialize with himself first.
