Just curious. Do Disney restaurants overbook their reservations to make up for no shows?? I have a reservation that I don't know if I'll be able to keep depending on our flight. I will absolutely call and cancel it if we won't be able to make it, but it will probably be a fairly last minute cancellation. Good news fo a walk-up I guess, but I wasn't sure if maybe they overbook for just such an occasion.

No, I don't believe they do. Each reservation is met, and reservations are usually to mitigate fire code. In all actuality, Disney probably under-books a tad because people end up staying longer than a normal meal because of the atmosphere.

If you have a res that you don't think you can meet, it would be kind to offer it to someone else. But I do understand the importance of having ressies at WDW!!!

Yes they do overbook. They have a formula for how many % of people are no shows and they use that to assist in their process. We have seen this time and again and even had it commented on by wait staff and management when we asked about waits and such. Certain restaurants do not over book as much because of their popularity... think Ohana. There is no need to overbook there because with no shows they still have walk ups. The percentage of overbooking is based on the individual restaurant though so I guess the answer really is some do and some don't.
