Do Disney even bother posting confirmations anymore?

Hi  ,

Having made numerous phone calls we have still not received any confirmation through the post for our Easter trip (which we booked right at the beginning of January.)

Rather than booking through the UK WDW site I booked through the USA site so that we could make use of the spring savings code that was available for a part of our trip. It may be because we live in the U.K that they aren't sending any confirmations but even after I had called them to inquire (which I have done twice now) there is still nothing

One CM at WDTC told me that 'it wasn't usual to post confirmations to international guests'

After paying thousands of dollars for a WDW vacation surely the least they could do would be to bother to post a confirmation?

Sorry, rant over! ::MickeyMo

humm, I've always gotten a written confirmation letter in the mail a couple of weeks after booking. It's not long, but it is nice to have in "writing" in case of any mix-ups.

Hope you get yours!

I've been wondering also. I booked our Dec trip through Dreams Unlimited on Jan 29th and I still haven't received a confirmation through the mail for our ressies. I assumed that it was because of going through DU. Shouldn't I still get a confirmation? Any of you that go through Dreams get one in the mail from Disney? Thanks, Sandy

I'm running 50/50 right now. I had to call 3 times for my Oct. confirmation. I called this weekend to make MORE modification on one of my 3 upcoming trips and asked about a missing confirmation and the CM commented that they are getting alot of calls lately about missing confirmations. She promised to get them out to me.....we'll see.

I'm in Canada and I've always received confirmations in the mail. They usually show up 2.5 weeks after I've booked but they always get here :) Maybe give Disney another call to see if they can send another one out.

Richard -

It definitely isn't because you are outside the country - I still haven't received my confirmation from my Jan. 6 booking. Called around Jan. 26 and they said they'd "send out another" and still nothing. This is the first time this has happened, and several other Dis'ers have posted the same thing!!

Maybe Disney is trying to save some money on postage!!;)

Thanks for your replies! It seems I'm not the only one who still hasn't received a confirmation...

:hyper: Probably

We just received an updated confirmation the other day for our April trip. They have been pretty quick to send them out for us. Has anyone noticed they are blue envelopes with Tinkerbell on them now instead of the yellow and red ones? We also got our trip planning packet and that was blue too. I guess there will be no more waiting for the yellow envelopes anymore!

No you won't get a confirmation. You can view your confirmed reservation including Disney's confrimation number when you log into your reservation info on the Dreams web site using your number and password. If that shows a confirmation number, you're all set.

When a reservation is booked through a travel agent - any travel agent - the guest does not receive confirmations directly from Disney. Disney deals solely with and through the TA.

We got 'modified' confirmations (though we haven't modified anything) on January 20th for our June trips and they came in regular letter sized white envelopes with Mickey in front of the castle and 'Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts' as the return address. The confirmation itself was still the yellow and red paper, but bascially just a regular envelope--we didn't even get blue with Tinkerbell! Also, they typed "CRO" on the envelope, right above the plastic window where our address was.

We also got our trip planning packet

What's a trip planning packet?? We've never received one of these before. Do these come with your confirmation?

Thanks for your replies everyone!

It is a little folder that opens up and has some printed sheets of paper in it. One sheet welcomes the "insert your last name" back in April. It goes on about my resort, the Poly and about the stuff happening there. The other sheet says something about "since you are traveling with a young child, here are some things you might want to do". It also tells you what is going on when you are at WDW and what not to miss. It also has a check list card that has a whole bunch of stuff listed on it that you can check off as you pack it.
