Do dead worms make good fertilizer?

I'm growing a Bhut Jolokia, right now it's tiny and I'm giving it loads of TLC until it gets fully established. On our daily walk around the neighborhood I noticed a lot of worms that had died on the sidewalk then were being dried out by the sun. Just for the heck of it I started picking some up until I had a good handful (it's about a 2 mile walk) then I tossed them into the pot and covered them with a little bit of dirt. Do you think they'll make a decent fertilizer as they decompose? They keep Robins alive, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try them and they are free for the picking
