Do DCL Europe cruises exchange USD into Euros?

In most cases, it is best that credit card purchases are in the local currency and let the credit card company do the conversion.

Beware of merchants that automatically convert the charge into dollars, usually at a rate that is favorable to the merchant, resulting in a hidden price increase.

That's good advice. It's pretty common for merchants to offer charging transactions at USD, but they are usually at fairly bad exchange rates. Not only that, some credit card companies still consider these as foreign transactions even if the intention of users was trying to save on foreign transaction fees.

Not sure where you’re sailing but we did a European cruise last summer that involved 5 different currencies and we just got cash from the atm at whichever port we were at. Virtually everywhere accepted cards anyway and tipping is much less of a thing in a lot of places also so having cash wasn’t all that necessary.
20 days in Europe last year and never got cash. Never found we needed it.

We lived in Germany for a few years and are on a cruise in a few weeks on the Mediterranean. Most places take credit cards, however, we found that Master Card and Visa were accepted in far more places than American Express. Some advice...let your credit card company know in advance that you're traveling and to which country(ies) so that they can put a restriction for fraud alerts...and you're not blocked when using credit cards. Also, recommend keeping receipts and keeping track of which credit card(s) [we typically only travel with 1-2 cards] you use as we've experienced credit card fraud a few times...coincidentally within a month or so of traveling abroad.

I leave this Sunday on the EBTA...yoohoo! Does anyone know if I can get Euros as soon as I board or do I need to wait until I am at the first port?

If you want Euros in advance, you will likely get a better exchange rate at your local bank than on-board the ship.
