Do children have access to the dining plan credits on their MB?

On our upcoming trip we'll be going with a couple other families. I suspect that we'll split up on one of the days with most people going to HS and some of us going to Epcot. We will all be on the dining plan. If one of their children wants to come with us to Epcot instead of going with their family to HS can they use their dining plan credits? I know the children don't have charging privileges but do they have access to the dining plan credits? Or would one of the parents need to come with us?

My DD10 used her band to buy snacks on our Dec. trip, so she had access to the credits. I was with her, but she enjoyed using her band.

Be sure that the child knows his or her PIN or have the parents give it to you if they prefer because you'll need it to access the credits.

All credits are accessible from any band or key assigned to the room, including children's.

My granddaughter had access to her credits. She is 8 so had the child's credit QS. She loved getting her own snacks. And yes she needed to know her family PIN she liked getting her own QS meals
