Do children 3 and under count on your ADR reservation?

We have an infant and a two year old joining us on our upcoming trip. I did not count them in our number when making a reservation...getting ready to leave and just wondering if that was the right thing to do! We have 11 in all and all my reservations are for 9! Is that correct? Thanks

You are supposed to include, all beating hearts. But, they should seat you at a 10 or 12 top, with a ressie for 9. So, eh...you might be okay.

Think about it...if your infant and toddler are going to be sitting anywhere other than someone's lap, they are going to need space at the table. I hope it all works out for you, but I can't say for certain that it won't be an issue. Good luck, and have a great trip.:thumbsup2

Yes, you need to count them. If they are going to be sitting in a booster or highchair there is going to need to be room for them at the table. I am going with a group of 10 and two are under 3 and I was told to include them when making reservations. Hope that helps.

It's not only to be able to fit highchairs, etc at the table but each restaurant has a maximum occupancy level and all individuals, including babies, must count.

Yes, they count. Give Disney a call and have them add the two little ones to your reservation. Hopefully it won't alter any plans you have made.

Have a great vacation!

I called the Dining line and was told I only needed to count my DS if he'd be using a high chair or booster. She said if he stayed in a stroller he wouldn't need to be counted). He will be 5 1/2 months old by then.

Usually when we go out, he stays in the car seat which either gets put on the floor next to us or in the booth.

I'm wondering if this is correct info....

1) Another case of ressie people not knowing everything.
2) The stroller or high chair *usually* counts.
. . . it takes up space
. . . if not under the table, it could block an aisle
3) I have personally seen people turned away
. . . when kids were not on ressie
. . . when there were no enough chairs at the table
. . . when a stroller would impede aisle access

many times a stroller will NOT be permitted in the dining room due to space considerations. they make it unsafe( and downright impossible) to walk between teh tables

It has to do with fire codes and occupancy. You need to count everybody in your ADR, even if they won't be eating. The CM who told you otherwise was wrong.

I'd call again and try to change your ADR's to 11. If there are some that can't be changed, then I'd show up and give it a try, knowing that there's a chance you can't or won't be accommodated.

I think that CM gave you WRONG info...First ,everyone counts. This is for occupancy/fire code issues 2- Strollers are alot of the times not permitted in the restaurants. They pack disney dining tables very tightly in together in alot of places( at Le cellier I may as well been sitting on the lap of the woman next to me at the other table) A stroller is simply not going to fit and would block the flow thru the dining room. Some places allow them, but you can't count on it.I would call disney dining back and try to adjust your ressies

Very few restaurants on property allow strollers inside, I've seen parents make a stink about waking a sleeping kid up, but *usually* the CMs stay firm on the no stroller part.
Any living body counts (I joke I count as two since I'm pregnant and eating for two anyway :) )The OP needs to call the dining line back

You may not be turned away - but you might be with two extra people. Guests of all ages count on a restaurant reservation. The fact that they're not eating or taking up space (sitting on laps, etc) has nothing to do with it - restaurant fire codes require them to count all patrons. If a CM tells you it is not a problem, that is not always correct, and if they can't seat you then "a CM on the phone told me it was okay" is not likely to get you seated. As noted, there are also a number of restaurants that do not accommodate strollers.

I should also point out that ECVs are not allowed in and I am always asked if I will be transferring from my wheelchair.

so it isn't just strollers that are singled out.
