Can you meet characters, get autographs, etc. much at MGM and Epcot? I know MK is THE prime place for this but just wondering whether my boys can expect any of this at the other parks.

Thank you very much!!

Oh my goodness, yes! This is from my experience 3 years ago, but I would be surprised if it had changed much, unless it's for the better!

You can find characters in the World Showcase at Epcot ... i.e. we saw 7 Dwarfs in Germany, Mary Poppins and the Penguins and Robin Hood in England, Aladdin and Jasmine in Morocco, and Rafiki and Timon at the Land. We also found Pooh and Eeyore in MGM, along with several other characters. Baloo, Terk, and Simba were in Animal Kingdom. WDW actually publishes times and places now where you can get in line to meet characters. You should be able to find them at every park. No guarantee how long the lines will be! I remember being first in line and waiting an hour to meet Belle and the Beast at Epcot about 10 years ago, because my DD would not budge until she got her picture made with Belle and got her autograph!

Have a great time.

We were there last week, and got lots of pictures and autographs with characters. Several times a day at MGM, they will get in various spots around Mickey's Hat (the center of the park) and lines will form for people to get autographs and photos. They typically stay around 20-30 minutes at a time. We saw (trying to remember them all): Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Donald, Chip n Dale, Lilo n Stitch, Queen of Hearts, Pinocchio, Aladdin, Jasmine. I'm sure there were others.

You can catch a few at Epcot (Brother Bear, Mulan, Nemo, Belle), but you've got to be in the right place at the right time.

The sheer amount of characters at MGM in the past few months has sky rocketed, in my opinion. You can meet characters near the Hat, Al's Toy Barn, near Muppets, Lilo & Stitch near Animation Tour, most of Mickey Ave and more.

here's our list from this past January of the different parks characters we met. (i had listed the characters on the front page of my dd autograph book with the park we met them at - if you do autographs it's a good idea because some of them are hard to make out after awhile.)

Animal Kingdom:

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Baloo, King Louie, Flik, Timon, Stanley, Lilo, Stitch, Pluto, Suzy, Perla. We also saw DiVine, Pochantos, and the character from Brother Bear but didn't get autographs.

Epcot:

Genie, Belle, Beast. We also saw - but no autographs - Nemo and the Living Seas, Imagium Statue, tons of street performers

MGM:

Chip, Dale, Donald Duck, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Kermit. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Lilo and Stitch were there also.

MK:

Mickey(different outfit), Daisy Duck, TweedleDee, TweedleDum, Robin Hood, Meeko, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Princess Aurora, Cinderella, Pinnochio, Gepetto. We also saw many more signing autographs but we didn't get autographs from including: the white rabbit, other characters from Pinocchio and Robin Hood, Peter Pan an Wendy, Winnie the Pooh, etc.

now keep in mind we really didn't search out anyone in particular except at Toontown and AK camp. So I think we did pretty good. I heard there were other characters in Epcot, but like I said we weren't specifically looking all the time.

FANTASTIC!! Thanks so much for posting, and your helpful details and tips. My children will be thrilled (and I'll be able to take them somewhere other than MK while they continue their little quests for characters!)

When my DDs were smaller and were collecting autographs, I made sure to only have the characters sign the right-hand side pages of the book. Then after we got home, I could glue in a picture on the left of each girl taken with the particular character right across from his/her autograph. Those books are still very cherished possessions!

At MGM, it seems they sometimes do two rotations of characters in front of the Big Hat. I remember passing by at I guess noon and seeing Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet, Chip, Dale, and Pooh ( maybe a couple of others). Then around 12:30 I passed by, and many different characters came out - Hercules, Meg, Pocahontas, Meeko, Belle, Beast, Snow White, Snow Queen, Queen of Hearts, Mulan, Mushu. I learned to always keep my eyes open at MGM, since the characters can change from one half hour to the next! :)

I'm a character and I will be walking around next week...I'm no Disney Character per say but yes definately a character :teeth:

We did not manage to see any characters on our last trip to Epcot (missed the character 'vacation bus').

However, we met some great characters at MGM. Woody, Buzz & Jessie at Al's Toy Barn; Mike & Sully at their backdrop near the ABC Commissary; Kermit the Frog near the Muppets building; and the Green Army Men from Toy Story in front of the big Sorcerer's Hat (they were doing a recruit class show). Had we paid attention to the fact that Lilo & Stitch could be found around the Great Movie Ride area, we would have seen them, too (we did meet them at AK).

We did see more characters at MK (of course) and Animal Kingdom, but we were very happy with our experience at MGM.

Thanks again -- y'all are great! This info helps a bunch, also the website for character scheduling!

Studog, we like ANY characters -- so if we ever cross paths, I hope you have a pen ready (no wait, we did learn to provide them ourselves!) -- :p

Also at MGM...Streetmosphere characters.

Be on the look-out for them...Flesh and blood actors in the roles of various Hollywood/California types of the Golden Age of movies.

Sincerely,

John "anotherboardnposter" Kilduff

MY DS AND I SAW THE BEST CHARACTERS AT MGM. WE KIT FROM TALE SPIN, A LOT OF VILLIANS, POCHOHONTAS, & MULAN TO NAME A FEW. THE BEST WAS MR. SMEE FROM PETER PAN. SINCE THESE CHARACTERS DON'T HAVE THE FOLLOWING OF MICKEY OR POOH, THEY TEND TO HAVE SHORTER WAIT LINES AND SPEND MORE TIME W/ THE KIDS. MR. SMEE ACTUALLY LAID DOWN ON A BENCH AND PLAYED 4 GAMES OF TIC-TAC-TOE WITH MY 6 YEAR OLD DS. IT WAS THE GREATEST.

EPCOT IS A GOOD PLACE TO FIND CHARACTERS AS WELL. SEARCH FOR THEM IN THEIR NATIVE COUNTRIES AROUND WORLD SHOWCASE (EX. MARY POPPINS IN ENGLAND, ALADIN IN MORROCO,BEAUTY & BEAST IN FRANCE, SNOW WHITE IN GERMANY) GOOD LUCK.

While we were in line to meet Buzz and Woody at MGM, a CM told us tha the princesses would be at the hat at 1:00. This was not posted on the list of characters that day. Normally, Pooh and friends were scheduled to come out. Sure enough, we saw all kinds of different characters - Alladin and Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan and Mischu, Pinnochio and Ghepetto, a penguin, a lot more but we got so many autographs I can't keep with them all. I learned to ask at the parks if anyone was coming out that wasn't listed.
