Do cats normally like....

Black olives? My cat loves them. I found this out when I had a salad on the table and was finishing making dinner. I turn around and there is my cat, pulling a black olive out of the salad bowl Now whenever I open a can of olives he comes over to me and is my bestest friend.

Also, while we're on the cat subject. Do they normally "beg" ? My cat comes into the kitchen every night when we're eating dinner and will sit pretty between dh and I, looking from one to the other waiting for us to share our food I thought dogs were supposed to do that.

I think at least one of mine does -- I think Gabi kept bothering DH when he was using olives on a sandwich. Not sure if they're good for kitties or not, though.

And yes, mine are horrible beggars. If yours is sitting patiently begging, be thankful. LOL! Mine sometimes try to take the food directly from the plate, my hand, the fork/spoon, or even my mouth! LOL!

I don't think they've tried olives, but my mom's cat loves butternut squash. Weird animal.

As for begging, my boys will wind amongst the feet at the table, waiting for something to be dropped. However, Mom's cat will go to Mom and paw her lap until she gives him something. If she hestitates, he uses claws gently to remind her. And if they're eating ham, forget it - Oscar is on her lap, trying to snatch it from her fork. And I left my boys with this greedy cat - oh, the bad habits they're picking up!

We had a cat who liked mayonaise. If we would make chicken or tuna salad and leave the mixing bowl on the table, we would catch her up there licking it!

They definitely are persistent beggers! They will sit there forever waiting for a bite! Ours would reach up and tap our laps.

I had a cat who loved green olives stuffed with pimentos. Whenever I would open a jar she would be right there making excited sqeaky meows. I would toss one to her and we would play fetch with it for about 10 minutes until she was worn out. Then, she would hunker down and eat it.

Mine is definitely a beggar. He constantly wants whatever I am eating. He hasn't had olives, but he loves garlic and ice cream. He also loves coffee. I left my coffee cup on the table to do something, came back and he was drinking it (black so I know it wasn't b/c of milk). Another thing he loves which is totally strange is the smell of bleach. If I am cleaning and my hands smell like bleach, he attacks me and tries to lick the skin off my hand. Very odd, but I love him anyway

I don't like olives, so I don't know if kitties would or not. Simba sits in front of the refridgerator and stares at it, he thinks it is a god. Everytime I walk into the kitchen, there is Simba. He thinks everyone should live in the kitchen, the bed should be moved into the kitchen. It's his fav room.
