Do cast members still feel the magic?

I joined this forum to get information on working at Disney. I have read a lot of career post; everyone says little things about if it is still such an amazing place to play after you work there, so I thought I would make a thread for just that question.

Is it still the Magic Kingdom after you work there? I would like to hear how long people have worked there and things they do to keep it fun.

I would never want to work there because I would not want to lose the magic. I have a friend who works at the Grand and they have become so annoyed by a lot of things.

Actually, we have a friend who has worked at WDW for over a year and a half. She left her previous job after over 20 years and was looking for something different. She's worked at POP and now works at AK. She STILL says that driving onto Disney property gets to her. She loves her job. She's been thru alot in her life and is a cancer survivor to boot....so she's able to let alot of negatives roll right over her. I think it takes someone similar to this to continue to work at Disney. There's a CM and his wife on another board who are raising a family on their WDW income. They've been there approx. 15 years and still enjoy going to work everyday.
I'd love to work at WDW. I think it has everything to do with attitude. Being able to put a smile on people's faces everyday is all it would take for me to enjoy being there.

Granted, I only worked at WDW for a few months over two years, the magic never went away for me. I worked with the characters and saw Mickey and Goofy through good and bad, but the magic continued to stay. WDW is just as magical to me now was it was before my time working there...maybe even more because I have all of the wonderful memories that made while there. :)

Can you send me a message on how to contact this person? It sounds like they will be able to answer some questions.

I was a cast member for about a year through a Disney reservation call center in KC and I loved it. I only took "Intender" calls, which were people looking to come to Disney for the first time and had lots of questions. I loved spending time on the phone with people sharing the magic and helping them plan out a great vacation. Towards the end, when Disney decided to close our call center we were all bummed out. It was one of the funnest jobs I have ever had and I got offered the opportunity to come to Orlando to work but I couldn't pick up and move my family to Florida.
