Do banked/borrowed points retain their home resort?

Just wondering if I bank or borrow points from a smaller contract at a certain resort can they be used to reserve at 11 months at my "big" home resort or do they retain their own home and can only be used at 7 months prior from check out?

the points stay at their home resort. You can only use them in the 11 month window at the home resort. I have had the same problem as we have an add on at Vero for 50 points which is completely useless for booking and if we want to stay there we have to wait the 7 month window to book, same as if we want to use the 50 Vero points to add to the BCV points, we have to wait for the 7 month window.

Think of it this way. You own an apartment in two different buildings. You can't pay the rent on one and stay in the other. Home resort points are not interchangeable with other home resort points.

When you bank or borrow points they stay within the same contract. Say you own a 160-pt contract at SSR and a 25-pt add-on contract at AKV. If you bank all of your 2007 UY AKV points, they move into the 2008 UY of your AKV contract, they don't move to your SSR contract.

I think you are confusing banking and borrowing with transferring points. If you transfer in points from another member (or from another master contract if you have more than one) and the transferred points are from a different resort than the contract into which they are transferred, those points sometimes "morphed" from one resort to another. We are now limited to one transfer per UY (in or out, not both) which helps MS keep track of transferred points so that they retain their original resort and UY.
