Do any singles own DVC?

I bought 210 points at OKW in March '07. Still awaiting my first use of it in September. And again in December. And again in January. :)

I'm single and I bought into AKV in May. I also just added on so I now have 260 points. My plan for now is 1 week or so vacation in a studio and a long weekend in a one bedroom.

I plan to slowly add points to get up to a 1 bedroom all the time.

The studios are nice and all you need, but the 1 bedrooms look so cool! :rotfl:

I too am single without any kids--though my 4-legged furry little friends act like kids--and I own at DVC. I own at 3 of them to be exact, OKW, VWL, & AKV. I have been alone, with family, and with friends. I love being able to go and stay in a 1 bedroom regardless of how many people may or may not be with me. I have enough points to stay in 1 bedrooms on all my trips. . .:cool1:

AKV 1 Night Dec 2007 then on to VWL Week before Christmas with friends (I have turned their 3 year old into a DVC Nut and she hasn't been to Disney yet!)

I'm single and bought in 2004. I was actually engaged so I was saving every penny to get married. When I called it off I figured I'd do something for me, so I used the money I had saved for DVC. I had wanted my parents to buy in since they created DVC, but they alwasy thought it wasn't worth it, until they stayed using my points and took a tour of SSR. Now I own 255 points and they gave 200. Enough to do whatever we want!

Good for you, fh!!! Its amazing how people are bought in once they see the properties. The 1BR and 2BR are soooooo relaxing and roomy. Having two kids, a "regular" hotel room just fets waaaaay too cramped by the end of the week. Also, having laundry facilities in the room cuts down on the packing. Enjoy all of your stays!

I'm single, bought at BCV in 2002 so that I could take my Grandkids at least once a year, but also manage to do at least 3 solo trips a year as well.

My sister & I, both single, purchased 200 points BCV in 2002. We are now up to 500 points and that doesn't seem to be enough. We keep borrowing from the next year. I would suggest to anyone thinking about DVC buy as many points that you can afford. Even though the points per night don't change, the cost of points increases when more resorts are opened.

I agree! I know I will buy more if the DVC @ CR is true... but need more than what I have.... especially if i keep taking others with me and either stay longer or need a larger room.

So great that you and your Sister travel together!

Great suggestion about the points! I just bought the minimum (160) at AKV in March. After making the payments for about year, I would like to add on enough to take 2 trips a year in a one bedroom - especially if they build one at the Contemporary!

Single, no kids. I bought at SSR in January of 2006. Since then, I've taken three trips home and I'm working on my fourth (and fifth). The funny thing is, I used to go to WDW solo half the time. Since buying DVC, every trip has been with a group. The first time I stayed in a studio, I felt like Goldilocks. It was the first time a hotel room had ever felt "just right" to me.

I have a bad case of addonitis, but since I just bought a home of the more permanent variety, it will have to wait.

P.S. Have a great first trip home, Glenda! AKV looks awesome!

I bought SSR after DH passed away. I thought it would be a great place to vacation solo. I have not had one solo vacation so far. To many family member's really love me all of a sudden:lmao: I may be taking my first solo vacation for NYE. My DD is single/no chilren and she bought in 2004. She also has never went solo. She enjoy's the park's but mostly goes to Disney for Jellyrolls and the Spa's. We both like to bring family along and combine our points for a GV. I have 250 points and she has 150 points. We both are going to purchase AKV points and I want to purchase BWV points. I think I may also need CR points for when I bring my grandson:love: . Gotta be close to the MK. Susan

I am single and own at SSR. I'm heading down there in a few weeks with some friends. :thumbsup2

Newly single in 2005 I bought a resale at BWV.
Had to change memories from the 'old'-engaged/honeymooned at Poly to
'new' memories as a DVC member. So far I've only spent a night here and there solo...sister, friends, and DD tend to join me for most of my trips so far.

Now I just have to get that 'extra' name off of the two bricks we purchased.
Chisel, anyone?:rotfl2:

Another single DVC member here. I own at SSR & AKV.

My parents are DVC members so it only felt right to join.

I'll have my points until I'm 72! :woohoo:
