Do any of you that post on DW...

boards ever have trouble getting your questions answered?

Have any of you ever had this problem when you have gone to the DW boards? I don't know why they are so unhelpful. I mean I thought that is what these boards were for was to help people out? Everyone on this board has always been so helpful and nice but I can't seem to get ANY help over there.:confused3

That is so funny you posted this. I have only been on the DL boards for a couple weeks and I felt the same way about the boards here. I was tempted to post on the DW boards about it but didn't. It moves a lot slower and I have seen a couple of not so nice people (posts) here and felt the same as you did. Almost as if this was an elite group. LOL It took some time but I am feeling a lot more comfortable. One thing I noticed is posts of all subjects are on the DL board where as the DW there are numerous places to ask your questions. I like the family boards they are the friendliest.
Sorry I don't have an answer to you question, we have only been in September. Hope you get the help you need. Like I said try the Disney for Families board.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Ok so here is my itinerary and maybe you can give me any advice.

We are flying in on the 20th which is the Thurs before.

We are spending the first few days at universal and then checking into a timeshare for the first week.

Our first DW day will be Sunday the 16th at Epcot. I plan on PS at Le Cellier.

I don't plan on any PS's for lunches because I don't want to be tied down for those and since we are in a timeshare I figured we will most likely have late breakfasts and we can always do cs for lunch.

Then I have MK for Monday the 17th with a priority seating at Tony's

Tues AK with a ps at Boma at AKL
Wed MGM or I should say Disney Studios. PS at Brown Derby and Osborne Lights this night.
Thurs Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving dinner somewhere at Epcot. Haven't decided which place yet but obviously we will make PS at one of the WS restaurants.
Fri. Now this is open to debate. At first I was going to stay far away from the parks but now I am thinking maybe back to AK. Since we only had 1 day the entire trip alotted to that park and EE wasn't built or nemo I thought it might be wise to spend 2 days there and since one of those things may be down the first day I thought it might be wise to alot an extra day. And of the 4 parks I figured it would be least crowded of the 4. I know everywhere will be crowded but I figured this would be least of the 4. Then ps at either one of the hotels or DTD restaurants ytbd.
Saturday back to epcot and CP and I chose Biergarten for the meal. My main question about it was when do the tickets go on sale. I know at DL they only go on sale 1 month ahead of time and I know MVMCP go on sale May 1st. I didn't know if they pre-sell tickets like at DL and if so how far in advance of if you just make priority seatings 180 days or what?

Then for Sunday we want to go to MVMCP and back to magic kingdom that day with a ps at Cinderella's table. We plan to go to the park that whole day and as everyone else is leaving we would be having dinner at CT. This is what we did when we went to MNSSHP in 05 and it worked well. That way we were already in the park.

My other question is when do they start the christmas parade at MGM? And AK? We were going to leave on Dec 1st but we may stay over till the 2nd and if so would the christmas parades be at those parks then?

Sorry I know I have lots of questions but that is why I am trying to figure this all out and since I need to book airfare and hotels NOW I need to know when all this stuff is going on. Plus if I need to buy the CP tix in advance and make my ps soon I need to know when stuff is.

Thanks everyone for all your help!

well, that makes me the common element to nasty people on both sides.

i'm shameless

I wonder if it has to do with the fact that there seem to be so many questions that you can't ask without a major thread errupting and then getting locked down. Alot of the questions are good ones, but they can't be answered without scandal.

Also, I found that I could get more questions dealt with in a reasonable manner if I went to a board that reflected my own interestes.... the adult one. The questions that I posted on the larger boards tended to get lost pages down before I bumped and anyone helped out.

We live in Central Florida, and visit WDW monthly. I can admit that I am a DIS addict, and frequent the DL board as well, just because I like to stay informed. I found it to be a huge help when we took our first trip back in January. Not sure what may have rubbed you the wrong way about the WDW boards, but I am here to help! I know a lot of the DL lovers hate to hear "Will I like it" from the WDW "vets." Just the same, the WDW lovers hate to hear "WDW is just so different than DL" Either way, I think most of us are just general Disney lovers, and it doesnt matter what park it involves, we all just want to help and feel like we are a part of something special!:thumbsup2

you have chose some really good restaurants. le cellier is one of my favorites and boma. i'm pretty sure the christmas parade is around 3:30 at mgm and at ak it's usually at 4:00. you might can check the calendar from last year cause they want come out with dec. calendar until sept. you will love EE. my 7yr dd loves it!! be sure and head back there when you get to ak and get a fp. the lines are usually not long if you go there 1st.

I think it is because A. The people you encountered were just rude or B. Because WDW is not as intimate a setting as DLR. I don't know about the Candlelight Processional or The Christmas Party, but we did do MNSSHP in October and we just called the main Disney hotel booking line and ordered them from there. If you call their info line, you should be able to get to the right place from there.

I am a longtime DL visitor, and just had my first trip to WDW. Overall, I found that the people in WDW were not as warm as those in Disneyland. Maybe because it is so large, I'm not sure - but there is a very different vibe at WDW. I'll try to answer questions for you if I can.

Sorry you had bad experiences on WDW boards. I do most of my postings there even though I'm from DLR area and have AP. I haven't had too much experience with rude replies, just a couple over my 3000+ postings. However, I do agree that with so many postings on the WDW boards, your thread can quickly drop out of sight. That's why alot of times I'll look for threads with few, or no replies, to see if I can help.

I've gotten alot of information on the WDW boards, and hopefully I've helped alot of people too!

We did the CP a few years ago (Dec. 2003) and at first I had made the Dinner reservations, etc. so we could see it. However, my DM convinced me to cancel it as it was a little pricey and we would risk seeing it without reserved seating. Well, this worked out very well! We arrived on the evening of Dec. 10th, and since my DNiece (DLR CM) was with us, we went into Epcot for a few hours since it didn't (at that time) use up any tix days). Anyway, we went over the the pavillon and the CP was getting ready to start. Ben Vereen was the narrator that night. We were able to get good seats, last minute, for the show. We didn't stay for the whole thing as some members of my group (my DM and my DD-then a little over 3) were getting ancy. But it was a beautiful show and I understand that the earlier you go in the season, the better chance you have of seeing it without the dinner package.

Let me know if I can answer any more questions, have to go now-DD is due home from school. :goodvibes
