Typically does the price increase and if so how much do they increase by? Also does it happen in beginning of Aug?

We are DVC members and I believe the prices right now are $389 and $344
we were going to buy through Undercover tourist and then upgrade to DVC AP, but if the prices increase prior to our trip I am wondering if it will actually cost less to just buy the AP now?

popcorn::

a bump...

I was just thinking about this too...

I know I asked this basic same thing before but now do not remember the answer or can find my notes...

DH & I are purchasing AP's w/ DVC discount...but was under the correct assumption we need to purchase them once down there can not do in advance...no issue w/ that have money set aside to bring w/...but now I got worrying again as we travel in Nov. so if the prices go up next month...will it cost more?

I have $778 saved for 2 Adult AP's w/ discount :confused3 maybe this won't be enough.

Ok just answered my own question...

saw another thread on same issue...and I just got off phone w/ MS and bought my AP's w/ DVC discount. they will be available at any will call at any park or DTD and are activated that day.

Prices always go up. It is just a matter of when and Disney no longer has any set annual schedule when to do so. (years ago it was always in August.) You can buy the AP in advance with DVC discount and avoid a future increase. You don't actually get the passes when you do so until you show up at the parks but you don't have to then pay any extra if priced increased after you bought on the phone.

Just purchased an annual pass from DVC. I received a voucher that I have to have activated when I get to the park.

If you have the time, the best thing to do is buy a ticket through Undercover Tourist before the usual August price increase. That makes the ticket doubly discounted - once you use it 1x, it automatically is valued at the CURRENT full gate price, not the discounted price and not the pre-increase price. Then walk right up to Guest Services and upgrade it to a DVC AP. We did this with 2 adult and 1 child this past year and saved $125 in total.

But if you do that does the one day on which you just activated it for count against the price?

No, you get full credit for the price. You can use the MYW pass for up to 14 days after first use and then upgrade to it an AP. However, the AP effective date will be the date you first used the MYW pass. If you buy water parks on the MYW and use them, you can only upgrade to a Premium AP.

AP's usually go up about $20 annually.

Can I ask what the price was per ticket after the DVC discount? Do APs allow you to park hop?

So what kind of ticket did you buy from UT? I was thinking about doing this but could not figure out if it really would save that much.

My scenario is:
I would be the only one purchasing an annual pass and we are going in December, but wanted to get AP before price increase. Can you help me figure out how this would work?

If you read my thread from the other day, Robo explained to me step by step what to do.
