Do all the Moderate Resorts have exterior hallways?

Meaning, are they like the values which the room door is in the outside? I was thinking about upgrading to a moderate during our trip in August, but I like a resort with interior hallways.

Interior hallways is a benefit of staying at a deluxe resort.

CSR is a large resort that does not share services with other resorts and offers some deluxe amenities because it is a convention resort.

CSR has a salon, spa, and a gym that other moderates do not offer. CSR has full menu room service and offers an internal shuttle system provided by golf carts to assist in getting to and from the main building to the villages.

It is also the only mod to offer suites.

CSR is situated around a 15 acre lake and CBR is situated around a 45 acre lake.

CSR has terrific transportation. It does not share with any other resort (like POR / POFQ) and it only has 4 bus stops within the resort (vs 8 at CBR). And since CSR is centrally located, you'll have a quick ride to all the parks.

And being a convention resort, the buses seem less crowded because guests are busy with their conventions.

CSR is the most central to the 3 parks you mentioned. See the map below.

CSR has the best pool of the mods and probably the second best on WDW property. Best mod pool. It offers a great slide (123 ft long), an arcade, a sand volleyball court, and a playground at the main pool area.

Review from mousesavers.com!!

Coronado Springs is my Best Value choice in the Moderate category. It has several advantages compared with the other Moderate resorts. It is newer, so there has been less wear-and-tear on everything. Also, Coronado Springs is a convention hotel, so it has a few extra amenities not offered at the other Moderates, including a salon, a health club and a more upscale food court.

The theming is radically different in the three areas of Coronado Springs. You can request a specific area when booking but there is no guarantee you'll get your request.

  • The Spanish-style Casitas at Coronado Springs are very peaceful, with courtyards featuring tiled fountains. Casitas Buildings 1, 3 and 2 (in that order) are the closest to the restaurants and services. Casitas Building 4 contains the salon and health club, if those are important to you.
  • The Cabanas at Coronado Springs have a beachy Caribbean feeling. Cabanas Building 8A is very close to the feature pool, which may be a blessing (convenience) or a curse (noise, light). Cabanas Building 9B is closest to the marina and relatively convenient to the restaurants and services.
  • The Ranchos at Coronado Springs feel quiet and secluded -- some would say isolated -- and feature desert landscaping and pueblo-style architecture. They look closest to the main pool on a map, but in actuality they are separated from the rest of the property by a swamp, so it can be a fairly long walk from these buildings to the pool, and a very long walk to the restaurants.

Yes, all the mods have have exterior hallways.

Mods have pool slides and hot tubs. values do not.
That is the biggest difference.
The rooms at the Mods are just a tad larger.
The bathroom at a mod is about the same size as the values but you will have 2 sinks instead of one.

POR room lay out

here is the All Star room layout'

A mod has 54 square feet more than a value.
So if both the mod and the value were 27 feet long that would mean the mod is 2 feet wider. Just enough room for a double sink instead of a single.
That would also give you 2 extra feet between the foot of the bed and the TV.
Not much extra storage space.

Disney's value resorts are a total bargain. You get so many perks (Disney theming, Disney transportation, and EMH)
Any of Disney's resort guests (even those staying at a value or mod) are allowed to shop, dine, use the transportation or spa facilities at any of the Disney Resorts. (Of course pool hopping is not allowed.)

There really is a minimal quality difference from value to moderate .

Have fun at Disney!

Personally, I don't find interior hallways to be all that much of a plus. They only serve to echo and amplify every conversation and slammed door. Our experience at CBR is that it is a very quiet resort. We barely knew anyone else was in our building. We were on the second floor, so there was no noise of people above us, and the layout of the buildings is such that hardly anyone ever walked by our door. When we've stayed in resorts with interior hallways, we always seem to hear everyone's comings and goings up and down the hall. I've found the moderates to be quieter than the deluxes for this reason.

I find that even children tend to be more likely (though of course not assuredly) to use their indoor voices when walking through interior hallways, but have no concern about screaming at the top of their lungs when walking outside hotel rooms with exterior hallways. The moderates were always way too noisy for me. I greatly prefer the deluxes for that, and many other reasons.

Dh and I love staying at All Star Music for that very reason.
Walking around the resort is so peaceful and relaxing.
We have never had a problem with noise at night.

I also have found the moderate resorts to be a bit more quiet though I have had a couple locations in the deluxes that were quiet as well as long as I was at the end of a hallway where there was no traffice. The loudness of peoples voices, carts, footsteps and slamming doors seems so much more in the confined spaces of interior corridors. I always ask for a top floor whether it is at a value, moderate or deluxe resort. I love the moderate resorts as well as the deluxe and always split my stay between them.
