Do all DVC resorts have a model room?

We are heading down in June for what we hope to be our last cash stay (we are in the process of buying resale). We want to check out a couple of the resorts, mostly BLT, BC, BWV and maybe VWL since we are staying at CR and BC. Are there model rooms we can check out? Are most the same set up so seeing one is like seeing the others or are they worth checking out? Is this a silly idea? We are buying into OKW and love the property but want to check out what else is out there if that makes sense.

Not all. There is one at Boardwalk next to Jellyrolls. BC and VWL do not have one, you could ask at the front desk or DVC desk if you could see an empty room if available. Not sure if there is still a BLT model at SSR or at the resort.

I don't think there's a BLT model anywhere any more. SSR has a model for Aulani... which is what convinced us to buy DVC (but not Aulani). We asked about seeing a villa when we were at BC for Cape May last Sept. and the manager very kindly escorted us to a room to see. And we stopped by BWV to see the model there as well.

Each resort has a different feel to it and IMO buyers really need to try to stay at the resorts that they have an interest in before they buy.

I wouldn't buy a car without taking a test drive but many will buy into a contract that may cost them $80,000 plus over 50 years without staying at the resort first. :confused3

I agree with the statement but I understand why people do not visit first. We live 16 hours away and only visit once per year unless DH and I decide to take a trip to just look at DVC villas but that can be expensive with airfare, lodging, etc. We just took our yearly trip and do not plan to go until May so we will go see them then if we have not purchased a DVC by then. I do plant to stay everywhere so home resort may not be as important to us.

The bolded statement may be true, but if for some reason you were limited to just your home resort, which resort would you want that to be? Answering that question will allow you to figure out your home resort.

Before we bought Bay Lake, my husband and I went to all the resorts and when possible checked out rooms, pools, what was available for dining and snacks. How long it took to get to different parks. We bought into Bay Lake because we love Magic Kingdom and We felt like if we wanted to try other resorts and couldn't switch at the seven month time period would we be disappointed to have to stay at Bay lake and the answer was no so that is how we made our deceision to buy. We have stayed at Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom and Saratoga Springs, we liked all of them for different reasons. good luck with what ever you deceide.

I VERY much agree with this. :thumbsup2 Each resort has it's own personality. Sometimes the personality won't match our own. Only way to really find that out is to try it for a night or two (rent or book through Disney)

Too often buyers are enticed by the lower priced resale DVCs and miffed when they find out they can't book where they really want to be at that 7 month window for popular dates (Prime examples: New year's Eve, Thanksgiving, Spring break, F&W festival dates ... the list is long.)
