while they wait in lines for rides? I know it's weird of me, but i hate bubbles. I don't like when they get on my skin. It, obviously won't ruin my trip, but I was just wondering how common this was.

I don't think so.

I like bubbles in the air - a lot - but don't like them landing on me, either. They leave that ippy stuff on your skin.

I'm sure there are a few people here and there who would do it. You're always hearing about stray people doing odd things. But it isn't common.

I have never been bubbled. I'd remember.

I've only seen it a couple of times. Personally I wish that Disney would ban bubbles in the parks as the ground there gets slippery when it is covered in bubbly juice.

I plan on using bubbles while we are there...in moderation! I figure a few bubbles and a distracted 3 year old would be better than no bubbles and a screaming, tired, impatient 3 year old waiting in line! :)

Have never seen this while in line. And would have to say it would annoy me more than the screaming child.

I do not like the marks the bubbles leave on clothes and if not paying attention, landing on my face.

I don't ever remember somebody having bubbles in line. Personally, I would be annoyed if bubbles started bursting all around me. There are more inevasive ways to entertain your kids while in line.

we don't go at busy times of the year, and rarely wait in line for more than 10-15 minutes tops but have only seen bubbles in line a couple of times in about 10 trips-I think most people realize that bubbles are not a good idea in tight spaces. You could always ask them to stop...you may be allergic to the soap if it feels odd on your skin. I know there are a lot of kinds of soap which wreak havoc on my skin...my doctor said it's probably allergies to soap ingredients. When my kids were little & we'd do bubbles, my skin always were red by the time we finished up.

Usually when we see the bubbles going is when people are waiting for shows or parades (like Fantasmic or MSEP)...when they're sitting in one spot for 45 min or more.

What I hate is when you're walking along & some goony kid has a bubble gun and gives you a face-full. Had my sunglasses off at just the wrong time one trip & got that danged soap in my eye...my eye watered for a good 30 min. Wish parents would pay more attention to what Jr. Monster is doing in the stroller (this particular Special Snowflake was deliberately aiming at people...only aimed & shot when people were within striking distance of his stroller .)

yeah, if people give their kids bubbles, I'll just adjust and make sure to carry the small antibacterial stuff around, so I can "wash' it off my skin. Or I'll just wear long sleeves.

I have never seen anyone use bubbles during my past 3 trips. I would hate it bc it would make it really hard to keep my dd in line- she'd be going nuts over the bubbles. Yes she is 9 but bubbles still make her jump all around.

I've never seen anyone blowing bubbles in line at WDW. Not even sure if I ever saw that at the rope drop show or anythings - so I'm thinking it's not very common.

Agreed. It would never occur to me to bring bubbles to entertain a child in line in WDW. People are way too close to each other in those lines to be blowing bubbles.

That would be rather thoughtless to do. There are plenty of ways to distract/entertain kids without blowing bubbles in a crowded line onto other people.

That is why those special snowflakes should be walking! Any child old enough to be doing that on purpose is old enough to be walking. To bad you didn't have a drink in your hand that the snowflake could have been wearing, you know from the "surprise" of getting soap in your eyes-except it would have been well aimed ;)

I have only seen them in line a couple of times thank goodness. I would say something if the child was blowing them on me. (if they are screaming you should do the courteous thing and leave the line)

Are those our only options?

I'll take the screaming child. When the kid is gone, so will be the screaming.

But the bubble stuff will require a stop to be washed off. And depending on where it lands, it might be a pain in the butt.

I have never seen anyone using bubbles while waiting in line at the parks. I would have a serious objection to that if they were used near me or my child. My daughter has skin sensitivities and I have to be careful of what type of soap or detergent she uses. I would be quite upset to have bubbles (i.e. soap products of an unknown nature) landing on her skin.

I think using bubbles in the park is a bad idea.

I've been going to the parks for 15 years and I've never seen anyone with bubbles. Seeing it mentioned here on the DIS is the only time I've encountered it.

I too think it would be irritating - but for the one blowing the bubbles. When I blow bubbles, I always end up with it all over my hands and arms and then you have the wet, sticky bottle to go with it. I think it would be more trouble than it's worth.

I only ask because I saw it mentioned on a post here about "tricks you wouldn't know about without the Dis" and someone mentioned the bubbles as a good trick she woudln't have know about to keep her child occupied in line.

The only time I've seen a kid doing it was on the bus on the way back to the resort. But I was in the back of the bus and they were up front, so they weren't hitting me, but the people around the child looked irritated by it.

and I mean this post as no indictment against parents who are looking for a way to occupy their child. I don't have kids, I have no idea how hard that could be!

I've never seen bubbles either. The chances of it being an issue are pretty slim. Most parents would realize pretty quickly it annoys other guests, is messy, and nix it.

:thumbsup2

They will, just as soon as they have their first lawsuit from an injured guest or disability claim from a CM.

But some won't and those are the problem.

As to the PP who stated they would only use them in line, I think that would be the last place to use them.

In line the people around you have nowhere to go except to leave the line. So please don't.
