I just added a day to my resort stay but had to book it under a separate reservation. This extra day is at the end of the trip. Normally, you get your DME pick up time notice the morning before you depart. My question is since I will have to check out and check back in how will I get my pick up notice? I'm expecting to be able to stay in the same room but on paper I've only got a one night stay so anyone else with a one night stay would only be getting in to the room at 3pm.

Make or remake your return Magical Express reservation using your last resort reservation information. This can be done at the welcoming area when you first arrive, over the phone anytime thereafter up until first check out, or (if it is still daylight) at the last resort upon arrival there.

Pick up the reservation paper with your bus departure time when you arrive at the last resort. If the reservation still needed to be made or needed to be changed, then it may take a few more hours before the paper is printed.

If the last resort is the same as the previous then you should be able to pick up the paper at the front desk morning* of the day before the day you finally leave if the reservation had been made earlier.

* Incidentally, that's when you check into the final, one night, reservation at the same resort.

Just ask for the DME voucher when you do the check out/ check in.
Double check to be sure it has the proper Magical Express bus time printed on it which time should be approximately 3 hours before your flight.

There also exist bus boarding vouchers that don't have times printed on them. All by themselves they only let you stand by for a DME bus which is not all that useful when you are trying to catch a plane.

That's good info. I had no idea that there were stand by vouchers. As long as I know to sort it out when I do my check out/in then I should be fine. I'll be getting the DME packet for the original return anyway so I will have to call and cancel that at which time I can double check on my pick up for the following day. I think I'm going to arrange a pick up for an hour earlier so that we will have plenty of time to get dinner at the airport.

When you get to the DME checkin podium at MCO, they will ask you about your return plans. You can give them the info needed for that addtl day. When you check in at that resort, talk to the front desk CM...they should be able to help you out, especially if you want to leave an hour earlier than normal.

I've never seen, or heard of, standby vouchers. Not sure they would serve any purpose. If you need to get to MCO for a flight, standing there, while bus after bus passes you by because they're filled, doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I've been able to get on the bus prior to mine...but I asked if it was possible. The driver told me no problem...but in all reality? He shouldn't have let me on that bus. It was crammed full of people!!!

I may have to go to the counter at MCO when I arrive. As of right now I still have not received the DME package(I'm 20 days out). Not a huge deal anyway, our flight arrives at MCO at 10:25pm. I find this sort of weird that I have no package as I usually receive it much earlier than the 30 days prior....sometimes 60 days.

Since you quoted me I must ask where you found this "stand by bus voucher information?" All bus vouchers for the trip back to the airport have a departure time since they are scheduled by resort and flight.

OP this is just not something to worry about!

If you already have MB's from a prior trip they will work for your upcoming DME reservation but if you don't or they don't work don't worry the stop at the counter isn't a big deal. We had issues in August when using our MB it showed us arriving a month later and staying for a month! We just went to the counter and it was quick and easy, they printed us a voucher to board the bus and we took care of the outbound later in the trip as we had a resort switch.

Call DME! You need to make sure they have your reservation. I've seen more and more people reporting that DME didn't get their reservation!
You're right....it's strange that you haven't received anything at this point.
