DME...will this option work?

We have a late-arriving flight on a Tuesday night and we're staying one night at an airport hotel that has a shuttle.

Can we shuttle back to the airport the next morning (Wednesday) to get the DME since we are staying at the Contemporary Wednesday and Thursday nights?

If that is allowed, how do we fill out the DME reservation with our flight info? Is it better to call someone or can we still do this online?

Your resort stay entitles you to transportation from the airport on Wednesday. Put down any flight that arrives around the time you will be there. It's not an exact time reservation for DME, just gives them a rough idea when you will be boarding a bus. If you check bags, you will have to cart them to the bus yourself.

I'll bump this thread because I have a similar question. We are planning a trip from So Cal in August 2020 and want to use our Jet Blue airline miles. Problem is, the one direct flight they have arrives in Orlando somewhat late (10p) and leaves Orlando coming back somewhat early (11a). Flying to Orlando, we have already booked the air and plan on catching a hotel shuttle to a near-airport hotel for the first night, then taking the airport shuttle back to the airport the next morning to catch DME to WDW. Coming back, we really want to spend most or all of the last day in the parks,so the plan is to catch DME to the airport late, then use the hotel shuttle to stay at the airport hotel again before boarding the flight the next morning. SO...here are my questions;
  1. FLYING TO ORLANDO - I assume we just leave the yellow tags off of the bags and pick them up at the carousel, then put the tags on the bags when we check in at DWE the next morning. Is this correct?
  2. FLYING BACK to SO CAL - can we schedule a late DME to the airport even though our plane will be leaving the next morning? If so, how late does DME run?

You don't need to put the yellow tags on the bags at all once you land. You will need to take them to the bus with you, and they will stow them underneath. The yellow tags are a cue for them to pull the bags before they reach the luggage carousel. So you don't need them.

Thanks - I did a little research and it looks like we are arriving too late to catch DME to WDW anyway (DME hours are 5a to 10p) - would have to come back the next morning anyway or find some other way to get there on arrival.

Am I correct in assuming I can just tell DME I will be flying out late (say 11p) to catch the ride back to the airport on my return leg? I know they like to pick you up 3 hours before your flight

DME runs all day and night. The only difference is they will not grab your checked bags after 10 pm. The yellow tags are worthless then, no one pulls the luggage off.

Call DME directly at 866 599-0951 and tell them what you want to do. They'll set it up for you. DO NOT call the Disney reservation line as they won't be of much help and the likelihood of them giving you erroneous information is high.

You are entitled to a trip from MCO to your resort and a trip from the resort to MCO anytime between your checkin and checkout days, inclusive. Those trips do not have be on your check-in/check-out days though.

DME runs 24/7/365, but as mentioned, the baggage delivery part only operates from 5a to 10p. Outside of those hours, you need to collect your bags at baggage claim and take them with you to the bus.

If you want to go to the airport the night before your flight, you can do that (assuming that's still within your resort reservation window, but you will not be able to use RAC (resort airline check-in) and will have to take your bags on the bus with you.
