DME wasn't up and running last year when we went and I have some questions I haven't seen the answers to:
1) How do we handle it if some of our party is arriving one day and the rest are arriving the next day?
2) What about leaving, when some are leaving a day before the others?
3) What happens with our luggage if we are not using one of the participating airlines? Can we still use DME?

Our party is divided also. When I booked online they have it arranged so you can make multiple listings. However, we all are arriving on the same day. Not sure if that matters or not. The leaving part is easy (or at least expressed my the DME rep.). You simply call the day before you are leaving to go home and give them the information needed. We have three different departure days (not a problem). I can not help with the nonparticipating airlines.

Yes you can still use ME. The first group to check in must add the names of the others to the room(s) before the others get to Orlando airport.

Non-participating airlines -- Everything works the same way until you check out of the resort going home. You have to manage your luggage from the room onto the Magical Express bus and into the airport, perhaps tipping the bellhop to store it for a few hours. The bus drops off at only one spot on the airport terminal A side and one spot on the B side, the exact location is not predictable, and there might not be any skycaps there to take your luggage.

(No airlines "participate" for ME trips going back before 5 AM to meet flights departing before 8 AM; the baggage check stand at the resort is not open.)

Don't worry about some of you going home at different times until after you check in at the resort. You can adjust the return ME reservations then, for each person at least one day before he goes home.

My family is coming and going a different times too. Parents are flying down and back together. I'm flying down on and back on the same day, but at a different time, on a different airline. My brother is meeting us after his HS band heads for home, and is flying home with the rents. We decided that it was best to call Disney, explain what was going on, and work from there. They were very nice and helpful. The rents and I are all taken care of, and they said to make the arrangments for my brother when we check in. Ask me on April 18th if it all works out or not, but it looks promising.

Not a problem. When booking DME, just let the cast member know which persons are arriving/departing on which day. They can create multiple transfers within the reservation.

There's a handy-dandy sticky on the top of the thread list that explains what "Participating Airlines" actually means, and how it will affect you.
