Hi all,

My flights got changed today, I was originally landing in Orlando at 4:30 now I am landing at 2:00. Do you know approximately how long it will take from my plan landing to get to the Wilderness lodge using DME. I am trying to decide if it makes sense to purchase a park ticket for this day or if I should just go to the hotel and spend time there.

Thank you

generally, it's 70 to 90 minutes between stepping off the plane and walking into your resort.

We always go to a park on arrival day.

That's putting you at your resort around 3:30. It would be at least an hour to check in, drop your bags, and get a bus to a park. So you're looking at 4:30-5p before you walk through the gates. Whether I go to a park or not would depend on how late the park is open, how many days of park admission I have, and how many I plan on using. If I'm staying for a week, have 7 days of tickets, but will only use 5, and the park is open until 11p+, yea, I'd probably go to a park.

How many days are your current park tickets? If they are at least 4 day Magic Your Way tickets adding on additional days only costs $15 per day.

DME takes approximately 60-90 minutes from deplaning to arriving at your resort. Allowing time to check in, freshen up and travel to a park we usually plan on walking through the turnstile of a park about 3 hours after arriving at the airport.

I would expect to be at the resort by 4. If you're gung ho and really want to do evening EMH or watch fireworks the first night, go for it. Otherwise, I recommend our ritual, which is to get settled in our resort room, have a nice dinner somewhere, and go to bed on time to hit rope drop the next morning.

Really, only $15? I have a 4 day park hopper. I was going to split A/K with Epcott but given my flight change I was wondering if I can do two evenings in Epcott. My only concern is that I have two separate reservations. I booked Sunday as just a room and then my package starts Monday, with my park hoppers and meal plan. I wonder if I will be able to add another park hopper day and use it Sunday.

Yeah, adding on when you already have a multi day ticket can be downright cheap by Disney standards. DW and I added a day onto our 7 day hoppers and got it for $10.65 each. For us, it's definitely worth it to add a day and go to a park on our day of arrival, even if only for the evening.

It used to be $10 for additional days, but with the last increase, it has gone up to $15 + tax.

If you are more than 30 days out you can modify your tickets without a problem. If you are within 30 days of arrival you can still add a day to your tickets, but there is a change fee of $50 that could be imposed. However, usually if you are increasing the cost of a package the fee is usually waived. You can also just wait until you arrive at DW to add the day.

Once you arrive you can pick up your tickets up to 10 days prior to the start of your package reservation at any Guest Relations at a park or Disney Springs. The only thing you will not be able to do is make FP+ choices for that additional day 60 days in advance because the tickets are part of a package that starts on Monday. You will be able to make "day of" FP+ once you pick up the tickets.
