We are arriving at MCO at 12 on a Saturday on January 21st. My instinct says the DME lines will be huge. We have a ADR in MK at 5:55. Should we just go with a limo service or should we go with DME to the Boardwalk?

We arrived last year on a Saturday, January 23, and we literally walked on. It was about noon, too!

No lines, none at all. Our bus wasn't even full when we departed MCO for the resorts.

Assuming no flight delays (in other words, assuming your flight arrives on time), 6 hours should be plenty of time from landing to your ADR time.
I agree.

Depending on where you're flying from, flight delays can be a real concern in January. As long as the ADR isn't for CRT, I wouldn't be super concerned, but it's something to keep in mind.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

But as Alesia pointed out, January is a time of year when flight delays due to weather are a real possibility, unless the OP is coming from an area where snow is unlikely.

That's a given during the winter which a limo isn't necessarily going to help either. The DME lines shouldn't be huge.

I'm always careful about what I book on arrival day as you just never know.

We are flying from Philly so snow is very likely and completely out of my control. I was just curious about DME lines we have never been in January so wasn't aware of the line situation.

You'll be fine if everything goes well. Once we landed a little before 11, went to the room (All star sports) and changed quickly. We were in HS before 2 and there was a long line for the All star's DME

If the flight is running close to on time you should be good with a 5plus hour time frame. If the weather forcast the day before the flight gives you cause for concern just cancel your ADR that night. We also fly in from Philly and have been to our resort 60 to 120 minutes after getting to DME check in. We usually come on a Friday but have also had a Saturday which was one of our longer waits but it was Veterans' Day weekend.
Still would have had no problem getting to an ADR in the time frame you have.

We've arrived during very busy DME times before and the longest its ever taken us to get to our resort is two hours. I agree that you should be fine, save for any flight delays. Even if its not snowing in Philly, it could be snowing wherever your plane is coming from which could hold things up too. That's the biggest variable.

If there is a huge crowd arriving they'll order more buses. The wait won't be excessive. We arrived on one trip to find the queue for the bus completely filled and spilling out to where they scan bands to check you in the first time. We still got on the next bus, which was 30 min wait. They are pretty dang efficient at moving the guests out of MCO

I arrived at the DME checkin area around 2pm on a Sat in early Dec a few years ago...okay, maybe 7ish! The line for DME was back to the rental car counters! I almost had a heart attack. This was at the time that you still went up to the counter to checkin. My friend got in the lengthy line, I sat on the floor, against a pole. It seems that we had arrived at the same time a huge number of PopWarner families were arriving!!! Man...talk about luck. But...it took less than 90 mins, from gate to resort, that time! The line moved quickly...I think my friend joined me after about 15 mins or so.
When it's busy, there tend to be more buses moving.
