DME Question

Hey all, I have a question that I have gotten differring answers from Disney and I am curious if anyone has done this.

My husband and I are booking a solo long weekend at the Grand for our anniversary and will then be flying our kids in to join us on Tuesday - Monday for the remainder of our trip. My question is, can we ride DME to the airport to get our kids and back with them to the resort? They are on our reservation as joining us for that portion.

Not if you plan on using DME as a family to get back to the airport. You are only allowed one ride to your resort and one ride back to the airport.

Probably not - unless for some reason you have two separate reservations - you get one r/t per person per resort reservation. The minimum age to ride alone on DME is 12 just fyi.

And if they’d taken dme to the Grand originally they wouldn’t be able to ride back with their kids at all.

Thank you all for your replies! When we leave at the complete end of our vacation, we are taking Uber, because we don't like how early DME picks up.

Just make sure you don't cut it too close. The security lines at Orlando can be horrendous! MCO advises you to arrive 2 hours before your domestic flight. Don't try and cut too much from that.

There have been reports of people waiting 45 - 60 minutes in the security line at Orlando airport. If you miss your flight it might be impossible to rebook you all on the same flight and it might be days before you can get on another flight so plan accordingly.
